C'mon man--I saw you first posted the conspiracy that BB was tanking to give his friend Gase the win--now its the Jets coach tanking. I like a good conspiracy as much as the next guy but pick one and stick to it--lol

Perriman and Mims both have that elite WR body control I love seeing. We should sign Perriman to extended years on the cheap right now imo.

There were times last night when it felt like each coach was trying to tank. Maybe the pats are really that bad or maybe BB just realized he couldn't out tank Gase without looking too obvious.

But it is hard to not recognize the amateur mistakes we made in the 4th quarter to throw the game.

This is a serious concern to me for this reason. I believe JDs actions this season have been geared towards tanking. Now Gase showed a clear sign with his coaching that he was tanking also. If true, the problem for us is that if they are working together on the tank than Gase will be here next season.

The Jaguars have a really tough schedule. The weakest teams they play are Browns, Vikings, Colts, none of which are pushover. The rest of their schedule are sure losses Steelers, Packers, Ravens, Titans . I feel the Jets will have to go 0-16 to get 1st pick.

The people that think we Tanked on purpose consider this:
The only way Gase would be in on a tank is if he knew he was going to be here next year to coach Lawrence.

Being that I refuse to accept that Gase is not getting fired, I firmly believe that we lost because we are terribly coached and haven’t reacted to other teams half time adjustments in 2 seasons.

There’s no tanking, no GM or coach would purposely lose games in NFL. They may not overly try, but not purposely lose. Gase is trying to keep his job.

They beat colts once already. Actually pretty soundly. I think you are underestimating the jags. They have a lot of energy and have lost a few close games. The odds of 0-16 are not great. I would imagine jags win a game or 2, same the jets. We could well go 0-16 but we likely win game or two.

1000% correct. I'm amazed that people actually think there is a secret plot in the ranks to tank for the number one pick. That is not happening, not with the GM, the CS or the players. Lack of talent, execution mistakes, poor play calling in the second half and better coached opposition wanting to win badly is what is causing this. Now, having said that, as you get towards the last two games in the schedule, some on the team probably will not try nearly that hard and many of the starters will be sitting on the bench. This is where many here will get super pissed off when Gase wins a meaningless game or two while the opposition rests the starters. Too bad we don't play the Jags, as that might seal it for us.

The Jaguars have a pretty tough schedule left.
It is possible that the Jets can still have a weaker SOS when it is all said and done and still get the #1 pick with 1 win.
Right now favors Jags, but if Pats really tank and Miami and Buffalo falter a bit, we could still pull it off.

Need to root for AFC North and NFC North to win out of division games.
Need to root for AFC West and NFC West to lose out of division games.

I’m still old school, and wanted the win. Especially over Belladouche. I really enjoyed seeing some of the young guys.

We looked better last night because it was the FIRST game all season we had all our weapons on the field at the same time. If this had been the case from game 1, we probably wouldn't even know who Trevor Lawrence is.

I have to believe when we add Sam, Quinnen, and Becton back to our starting lineup we will play even BETTER than last night, especially if they get on the field after our bye and get a few games playing together. If Gase isn't fired during the bye, we could have a mini-repeat of the ending to 2019 season. Yes we could.

I feel there is only ONE way Gase is kept as our HC. First, our team at full strength has to pull off some nice wins, taking us OUT of the Trevor/Fields conversation. Second, Covid must make 2021 TC a repeat of 2020. No PS games, all team meeting on ZOOM, no one in the buildings, etc. If we're forced to keep Sam and covid kills off our 2021 TC, then Johnsons (and maybe even Douglas) will consider keeping Gase for continuity. 'Continuity' is the word you will hear over and over if this happens. Johnsons don't want to force the team through ANOTHER new coaching staff, ANOTHER new offense, ANOTHER new defense, all w/o the benefit of a solid TC. Continuity will be paramount.

So if Gase survives the bye, and our entire team is healthy for the first time this season (Sam Becton Mims Perriman Crowder Herndon and the rest of them) there WILL BE a major push for the team to score 3-4 wins. Team pride is at stake. Gase's job is at stake. Sam's future is at stake. Our team is still playing HARD for Gase, and for pride.

There is no 'TANK' at Jet 1 Drive.

I am still mad how we could lose that game! How they even had chance to win in regulation. Why this CS not able to adjust, we had ball like for 4-5 plays in 4th q. Unsat, on many levels from coaching to fundamentals to execution. A competent CS would have handled it different. And made sure a W. That is why Gase should be gone this week, just can’t figure it out, how an owner would allow his team to be run like that. It is frankly embarrassing that Monday night. To coin a phrase, you play to win the game, not play not to lose. Even belecheat was having fun with it today, pissed me off!
