there is no way we draft m ryan. Clementine is Mangini's boy who he drafted just 2 years ago. Clemens is young, has only had 8 games to play, which were behind a piss poor offensive line and without L Coles for a lot of those games.

Mangini has showed a lot of patience and there is no way he will pull the plug on Clemens this early in his career. Simply will not happen. Eli Manning, P Rivers and even guys like M Lienart and V Young have needed more than a full season, in many cases 2 or 3 seasons before the game came to them and they started to win big games. Lienart still hasn't become that guy and has some serious weapons in Arizona. You think they are going to pull the plug on him? Of course not. If Clemens loses out to Penny or has a bad year then bring this conversation up next year....but for now there is just not enough of Clemens to go on to label him a bust, which is exactly what you would be doing in drafting m ryan.

Draft def or trade down is my belief. Would love to get in RD 1 and two RD 2 picks a CB, WR, and OLB. That would be a sweet draft.

Good luck with that... most on this board are demanding a splash though... it's a splash or bust!!!

    Longz Gone!

Anyone who thinks that either of the Longs will be available at #6 is dreaming. And anyone who wants to trade up to get them, well, furgetit. Stupid idea.

I go along with the rest: I would be happy if Gholston and especially McFadden would be available. Unlike most posters, I'd be okay if they selected Matt Ryan. You know what? We don't have a QB, so taking a good one in the draft is not such a bad idea.

I don't think people are against taking a QB as much as they are against taking Ryan at #6. There are no can't miss QBs in this draft. If he gets past Baltimore he might be this year's Brady Quinn.

Most scouts had Ryan Leaf going to the Hall of Fame, Reggie Bush was supposed to be Lt part 2. Does Blair Thomas Ring a bell? Scouts make mistakes and believe Hype all the time. Until he stands up and plays Lb in the Nfl and covers on pass plays he will get an overrated nod from me. Plus im not sold on his competition as well. At De he will get blown off the line or end up on the Dl half the season. If his dad were not named Howie Long his stock would not be this high.

At OLB, he'll be a havoc coming off the end and with that change of direction, he will be pretty sick in pass coverage.

It ain't daddy, its his love for football and his motor, his drive to win, his ability to make his teammates better and believe in one another, his contagious enthusiasm for the game. Leaf had none of that, he was a douche-head case with fantasic physical abilities that couldn't get together. He could have been great, but he got in his own way, alienated himself from his teammates and the media, couldn't take the pressure of a #2 overall.

I don't see Long as a similar case.

I agree with what your saying but the same can be said for every player that will be drafted in the 1st rd. All the hype over mcfadden and he could be turn out to be the next blair thomas. Its all a crap shoot!!

I would jump for four players at 6:

Bold, but great choices- Ryan or Stewart

Good, smart, and safe choice- Chris Long

    Risky choice- McFadden

The same issue exists with Gholston, whom you said you would be ecstatic about. Try being consistent. I hear prunes work.
