Admit it, he's been performing A LOT better than you initially thought. It seems as the seasons progresses, Fitz has gotten better instead of worse.
I think he performing better then anyone thought. Now it money time. Let see if he can keep it up and get the Jets in playoffs.
Those weapons is the reason I would like to see what Geno can do. I'm not saying sit Fitz now. He should stay the starter until season ends.
Geno's problem is between his ears. He can't make the reads that Fitz does. He'll never work the pocket like Fitz does. He'll never have the touch on his passes that Fitz does.
if a defense is top 10, fans love the DC. if a team is winning, fans are ok with the HC. if an offense is top 10, and the team is winning, the OC is still an asshole. such is the life of an OC. lol, has to be universally the least liked coach amongst fan bases. lots of blame, and very little credit. haven't seen much mention of the job Gailey's done so far. hell, i would have signed up for a top 10 offense in a heartbeat this preseason, and i still don't know if i like Gailey
This. Then again, I was probably one of the few that loved the Gailey hire anyway. He may have been a bad HC, but he's always been a very good OC. I have no complaints with Gailey this season for the most part. Best OC we've had in a while.
He also runs better than Geno and is decisive about when to do it. Geno could never quite get it right and still seems clueless about clock management. Fitz runs the 2 minute drill well. Geno might be younger and have better pure athleticism, but you can't win football games on just that. Fitz is cerebral. It's hard to imagine the Jets offense is top 10 in yards and 11th in scoring. The Jets are also #1 in the red zone on both offense and defense. If only they could cut back the 3 and outs, they'd be looking in prime position for a deep run in the playoffs.
geno smith is done. he is probably done as an nfl player over the next year or so. id prefer if we stopped talking about him. we need to find a qb, and geno isnt him. and thats the beauty of the geno situation, he didnt kill the team with his contract and they werent stuck in a position where they HAD to give him more time than they should because of the investment. he isnt very good. lets move on.
