uhhh what? Marquice Cole and Lowery were freaking beasts yesterday on ST. I don't see how this move makes any sense, as Clowney's not a WR.
Yeah, I'm not getting this. I'm not crying about cutting Woodhead, but why did we resign Clowney? Can someone with better insight speculate?
They have one deep threat on the active roster with another on the way in 3 games. I don't see why Clowney would be seeing time on offense when he wasn't in offensive plans a week ago. putting worse players on the field isn't gonna fix anything for next week.
If the Jets solution to the passing game is bringing back Clowney, then we sir will be picking top 5. I don't think Rex is that dumb, so I'm gonna sit back, shut up and watch. But god damn, this isn't the most inspirational signing ever...
Not necessarily. Washington can be elevated from the PS if there's an injury. It's all but certain that he would. McKnight may have had a great week in practice, too, although it seems way too sudden for that kind of turnaround.
I agree. You think Westie went to Rex and said "I need Clowney back!!!"? ST played pretty good last night, what else could they want him for?
No idea. All we heard during hard knocks is that he has the talent but he never puts it together. I don't know what a trip to Kansas City and week off would do to fix that. The only thing that I can think of that I didn't take any notice of last night was that Brad Smith was really awful as the WR #3 last night.
They brought Woodhead in for one play last night and lined him up wide, not in the slot. I'd imagine they might have liked someone with a bit more size and speed at that point.
Yeah. I like the "feel good story" of Woodhead, but this kid has never done shit. He's a waste of money. Maybe this was just an upgrade...
Whatever their reasoning is I would like to hear it. Any reason they have for bringing Clowney back today should have been something they thought about a week ago.
If they were looking for someone to line-up wide, should have brought in LT and Greene and had LT in the Slot...
I'm not sure it was Smith, outside of LT he was our only offense last night. In fact a little more of him and maybe we win the game.
In the wildcat he was electric as usual. He was on the field a lot at WR, more than he would have had to be if they just wanted to keep the defense thinking about the possibility of the wildcat. I didn't pay the slightest bit of attention to him at WR so I have no idea how he played there but it was just a guess into the teams reasoning.
