if this drop woodhead and bring in clowney is for real i as a guy who was against the entire woodhead situation sit here annoyed.

although most made too much of the little white guy who overachieved danny woodhead is a much better player than the clown mobile. i am not happy about this move.

Five bucks says D-Wood becomes Kevin Faulk's heir-apparent.

You are correct, the Jets should let Santonio sit the rest of the year.

    Yep. Standard alleycat post.

Woodhead needs to add ten pounds of muscle before he can secure a permanent roster spot. I truly believe the NFL is not done with Danny Woodhead, but we need a deep threat. Right now. Clowney is a douche, but a defender needs to run next to him 40 yards downfield.

Don't see the point of this move at all. If Clowney was good enough to be a deep threat receiver he wouldn't have been cut a week ago.

Not surprised. He couldn't get in the game last week despite Greene being benched for about a half.

Say what you want about Woodhead but he was a hell of a checkdown guy. Considering our current M.O., I am shocked by this move.

He was a marginal player who was always the 53rd guy on the roster.
Because checking down worked so well?

I know, I was being sarcastic. Sorry if I didn't make that clear.

Although I was hoping DW would get more of a chance to prove himself, and I really don't see much point releasing him for someone like Clowney, it is what it is.

I have this awful feeling he's going to wind up being really nasty somewhere else.

Woodhead isn't really ready yet for the NFL. I'm not saying he can't play in the BFL, but he isn't yet ready to heavily contribute. Whereas....Clowney, by being cut...had a serious wake-up call & will probally approach his NFL future with more vigor, zest & seriousness. Jets looked horrible with Brad Smith as the 3rd WR !!!!

What am I missing here...all this fascination with Danny Woodhead. Larry Taylor is better than Woodhead...:breakdance::breakdance::breakdance:

I don't know. I was hoping to see Coles back. He always caught the ball. That's an under-appreciated.

Cato, our whole offense couldn't get in the game last night. lol how many minutes did our entire offense even play?

Didn't we just guarantee Woodhead's salary for the year when he made the 53rd roster spot? I think Clowney is in only for the first 4 weeks.

Woodhead hass been around a few years and is a fringe player, barely making the roster.

Time to bring in another player, maybe Taylor, and let's see if they the can step up.

Clowney was broughf back till Holmes is back, his tenure will be brief.

I doubt Taylor will be back. Rex himself on Hard Knocks said, "How will he do in the slot? How would the QB even find him?" referring to his size.
