Rex didn't change the culture around here. Bill Parcells did. The Jets have not been SoJ since 1997. They've had bad years like 2005 and 2007 but both of those years followed up years in which the Jets made the playoffs and at the start of 2005 and 2007 most Jet fans expected the team to make the playoffs again. 2005 in particular was a year in which the Jets were hyped for the Super Bowl before Chad got hurt. What Ryan has actually done is to create consistency in the Jets results. 2008, 2009 and 2010 were the first back to back to back winning seasons for the Jets since 2002. Given that the 2008 9-7 was accomplished with a QB no longer on the scene in 2009 this was a huge accomplishment. Ryan is looking to become the first Jets head coach to have 3 consecutive winning seasons since Weeb Ewbank in 67, 68 and 69. That's what he's done.
