Again, I don't even see how this is a thread. We do however, get Mr. Electric's rave review and expert draft analysis of a Fresno bulldog. If Mr. Electric were currently GM, we'd be having a quarterback competition in camp with the likes of Trent Dilfer and David Carr.

The NYJ's are allowed 80 people on the roster coming to Training Camp.

As everybody gets signed, the number gets more and more real.

I wonder how they are evaluating which of these fringe guys they will keep and which they will cut? Nobody's working out now. Are they looking at tapes...?

Another little mystery on the periphery...

I would prefer Carr over Chad anyday of the week!

I guarantee you that I know more about this game than you.

David Carr was one of the best college quarterbacks of this era. What he did with the little talent that he had in the Valley is close to remarkable. It's just too bad he didn't have protection in the NFL and he's now a headcase...and Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl, which means he's automatically better than any QB on the Jets' roster.

Worrell was a beast at the college level, and actually may have a chance to start because no one has a firm grip on the free safety spot. Abram Elam and Eric Smith haven't shown us anything special. If Worrell can come back strong from his knee injury, he will contribute...most likely on special teams.

Don't mean to get involved in a personal thing between you and Roc, but

Worrell was not a "Beast" at the college level. If he was he would not have been an UDFA. I will give you this he has hung on at the NFL level, which says something for a guy who has very limited skills.

Last year at Miami he was forced into service due to a lot of injuries at the position. When he was first put in as the starter, He sucked.

I will say he improved as the season when on. Not enough for Parcells to extend him a contract, but enough that the Jets want to take a look at him.

If he makes the team, it will be as a special teamer. He just isn't good enough to replace. Elam, who played much better then Worrell last season, or Smith, who has quite a bit of potential.

    Nothing personal, just my opinion.

I disagree and every meaningful statistic is on my side.

Only MEANINGFUL statistic: Pennington doesn't have a mullet.

    Carr > Pennington.

I wouldn't look into this signing too much. Worrell clearly struggles as a safety at the NFL level and he would be lucky to stay on as a special teams player. If he pans out at that, consider him lucky.

From the experience of Worrell's play in Miami, I will consider it a bad sign if this guy even makes the team, let alone starts.

He could very well be better than Clemens and Pennington. He's a lot older now, but he's accomplished more in his career of mostly being a backup then Pennington ever will.

    That's all I was saying.

Pennington also could've won a Super Bowl with that defense.

Being on the roster of a Super Bowl winner is no great feat. Playing quarterback is more, but only if you were part of the reason they won. Dilfer wasn't.

^Didn't play last year. TC fodder, ex Pat.

Most of the guys signed now are not going to be anything special. 74% of players in camp will either be cut or won't start. Since we have our starters set (minus a couple of positions)- these signings should be taken with a grain of salt.
