Foxworth is NOT a starter. Far from it. Champ and Dre Bly start for the Broncos. Foxworth is not that good. I'm glad his agent says he's interested in playing for the Jets, too bad he won't make the decision on this one.

This would be a good trade. Better to get a potential starter at CB for Dewayne rather than nothing...

Rumor: Jets and Broncos back at the table?

Apparently, NFL Radio’s Solomon Wilcotts is reporting that the Jets and Broncos are back around the negotiation table, working “feverishly” to try and hammer out a deal for Dewayne Robertson.

If this is the case, a move like this would be a great boon for the Jets. They’ve already found Robertson’s replacement, will likely pick up a draft pick or two with the move and will be sliding enough money off the books to still make some minor signings, lock down the rookies and re-sign a player or two.

That would kick ass. We need to clear that 8 million.

Ill take Foxworth and a 5th rounder at this point- That would be a great return for the useless DRob and his salary

That's huge. I'd take anything for Robertson the key is getting rid of that ugly contract.. Robertson for a Gatorade container do it up.

Not very fair to hold it against Foxworth that he's behind both Dre Bly and Champ Bailey, two guys who are held in high regard.

I know I posted it, but I would take the Robertson rumor with a grain of salt right now because I can't find a confirmation of the ESPN radio report anywhere yet.

The Broncos just fired their GM. Who knows what that means for any possible trade

At this point in time anything for D-Rob is OK with me.

With Denver in now, I still think it will be a 3 & 5

    here's the deal with drob:

if he were a true FA, several teams would be talking to his agent right now because he is still a force to be reconned with. several teams would love to get him.

but the jets may have to cut him anyway, so the teams that are interested in him are staying low and gauging the interest from other teams. it'd be nice to get him without loosing draft pics, but that only works if no other team steps up and starts bidding for him (after we cut him)

the closer it gets to june 1st, the more nervous the teams that want him will become.

'do we give up a late round pic to garuantee we get drob or do we wait until after june 1st and possibly miss out altogether'

the more teams we can project that are interested in him (denver, bengals, ect), the more likely a team will panic and fork over a draft pick to avoid potential drama and missing out on him.

i'm certain there are other teams that have not said a word yet and are just sitting back judging the whole situation.

we will end up with a 4th or 5th round pic for him

And now Boss Baily too. Denver has to try and trade Foxworth..either that or cut him. Same issue the Jets have with Robertson.

Robertson to Broncos talks heat up again- Tom Rock, Newsday

    http://www.newsday.com/sports/football/jets/ny-spjets135611840mar13,0,3656377.story

Meanwhile, talks between the Jets and Broncos on a trade that could send Dewayne Robertson to Denver have been resurrected, according to another source (though it's unclear whether yesterday's announcement that Broncos general manager Ted Sundquist is no longer with the team will temper or accelerate the conversations). The Jets are trying to deal Robertson not only because he never truly fit in their 3-4 defensive scheme but also because he is due a $3-million roster bonus on June 1 and, under his current contract, would count more than $11 million against the salary cap in 2008.

Terms of any potential deal were not known, but they could involve cornerback Domonique Foxworth. With visits from Law and Strickland, the Jets clearly are interested in bolstering that position. The Jets had a tentative trade in place with the Bengals this month that would have given them a fourth- and a fifth-round pick in exchange for the defensive tackle, but that deal fell through.
