I just saw that too and was going to post it. No mention of the trade in the article of his firing. Perhaps this will grease the wheels for this trade happening? Maybe he was holding back on it for some reason and the CS wants DRob. One can only hope.
Ok. Boss is a LB. Next, the Broncos brought in Dre Bly last year..some indication that they felt they needed CB help. Also, Foxworth was behind Darrant Williams too before he died.
Foxworth not coming to Jets; DRob could still be traded From Tom Rock http://blogs.trb.com/sports/football/jets/blog/2008/03/denver_talks_continue.html
I was just reading that. I wonder who else Denver has that might interest us? I think I would rather have draft picks.
Tom Rock started this stupid rumor in the 1st place by calling Foxworth's agent and asking him if Foxworth would play for the Jets. His "source" is obviously Foxworths agent again. The same thing happened with Pac Man Jones. He was on a radio show and a Cowboy fan called in and said you should go play for the Cowboys. Pac Man that would be cool, I just want to play. From their, all the writers an radio guys talked about Pac Man to the Cowboys for the next week as if it were going to happen. I think some of these lazy writers are getting desperate because the NFL network breaks everything now.
Yeah, but who on the Broncos would you want? They just traded for Dre Bly, so why would they trade him away? Apparently Foxworth is off the table. I would love to have Brandon Marshall or Scheffler, but those are Cutlers main guys, so there is no way they're trading them. Other than that they don't have much talent. I don't think a "proven starter" is what we'd be getting back in a trade. We'd probably be getting a project.
I looked Denver's roster and other than their untochable guys, it is a very weak roster. You can put Dre Bky in the Ty Law ctegory, slow and overrated.
Elvis Dumervil (OLB depth), Ebenezer Ekuban (DL depth), Dre' Bly (CB stop gap starter), Alvin McKinley (DL depth), or the trouble making Marcus Thomas (DL depth)...they've all showed that they can play. Tony Scheffler is a possibility. I know he has great chemistry with Jay Cutler, but they went out and got Daniel Graham last off-season. I really don't know who the Jets want from Denver. I don't expect to get a big time starter for Robertson, but one of these Denver guys packaged with a 3rd to 5th rounder couldn't hurt.
He'd cost a lot though...just because teams pay a ton of money to first rounders. I wouldn't mind him for depth though.
Any team that wants him would be retarded not to step up now. Once he is a FA his price will be much higher than it would in a trade. With the trade the team can hold him hostage until he negotiates a reasonable contract.
