Yes this is a big problem. Most people on this board are on the Sanchez bandwagon but had we lost against the Vikings he would have been the reason.
Well we'll never know because the Jets did win the Vikings game. My guess is that the big complaint from fans wouldn't be Sanchez performance but the number of passes he threw. With that weather the pass game was just too crippled. Of course there would also be lots of posts blaming Revis too.
The Jets ran up 150 yards on the Vikings tough D.. I can't imagine they won't shred the Broncos weaker D without a bunch of their starters. This is the exact kind of game the same old Jets would lose, but I think this Jets team is going to grind out a win
Yeah, good points. I was just commenting re: the stats the other dude posted. I don't see our O having an issue here. If they start bringing guys up to stop the run we've got Holmes and Edwards to go deep. If they try to balance things out by bringing the LBs up and moving the DBs back (in quarters or whatever) we've got Keller & Cotch up the seams or running slants. They'll be unbalanced all game. Hopefully we got the all the drops out of the way on Monday.
He had a bad game, but that's all it was. Bad. If my quarterback is going to have a bad game, have it be like Monday night. Not like last year's Buffalo. If the dropped passes were caught, he would have looked much better.
I guess I'm on the bandwagon, but I didn't think the kid played that bad considering the weather. The ball did get away from him a few times, but I think the receivers dropped catchable balls more than he messed up. Granted the worst thing we did all game was his fault- snapping the ball early on that play at the end of 4th. So if we lost and that was the reason, yeah I can see a few people jumping off the bandwagon, lol. The posts would've been classic. Cut Sanchez! Fire Schotty! Trade Revis for Vick!
Trap game my a**. The Broncos are not as good as the Patriots. We are going to absolutely obliterate them.
I disagree with TummyTom- He would've been the reason for giving up 3 second half TD's (2 TD's) in the 4th? Come on man- As I said earlier if 5 of the 10 or so dropped passes are caught it's a completely different game. So we win, despite the D allowing 13 points in the 4th and Mark gets no credit, had we lost he gets all the blame?
he mismanaged the clock. He gave the Vikings an extra minute so yes Sanchez would have been the reason.
Run all day long. Take advantage of the play action off of that. Use Brad Smith liberally on offense..,maybe have him throw one to Santonio. We will be in the endzone all day. On defense, hit Orton often and hold them to field goals.
Yes, he made an error that many young QB's make. He's still growing, but he's growing very quickly right before our eyes. You have to look at this with a little perspective - we don't have a 5 year vet. He's tied for 3rd in the league in TD passes and leading the league in INT's (the good way) right now too.
I like Brad Smith in the Pistol vs. the Broncos. Give him a handful of plays, and he could get a lot of yardage.
I would say the D had a worse day than Sanchez. Sanchez did not have a good day but he also managed to get the team in field goal range 3 times (out of 5) and did not turn the ball over in a bad weather game with a shitty breast cancer pink ball. The drive where we did score a TD was huge! He showed poise and grit right after they scored to get within 2. I am not on the Sanchez bandwagon but know how to be realistic about a second year QB. He is only a second year QB and he will have bad games, Hell even Brady has a bad game now and then.
There were a handful of posters just like you last season. I made a believer out of all of them. By the end of the season you'll be on Sanchez's "bandwagon" you can't call it a bandwagon when he's playing well. You can't be a fair weather QB fan - it means you don't understand what's going on.
I look at the Denver game the same as I looked at the Bills game except Denver actually has an offense that can do something. I believe LT and Greene both go for over a 100 yet again while Keller eats up the redzone on playaction. This wont be a huge blowout like the Bills but it will still be a two score victory.
I heard Rex a clip from a Rex interview on the radio this morning. He was asked what parts of the Jets game was lacking, if any. His answer was the defense giving up big pass plays. If we can get that fixed we'll be just fine.
Play less zero coverage. When the camera cuts to Rex holding up that fist for zero coverage I actually frown a little. Its been the weakness this year. I'd like to see Pool stay over the top because he has good ball skills. I'll give Kerry Rhodes one nod - he's a good centerfielder. He's a total pussy, but a good over the top guy. I think Pool can do the same, but I don't see him in that position very often.
