I hope this week we will have a convincing win! For the past three games, it all comes down to one play and I don't feel good about our team making the SB.
Great point!!! Who'd want a team that knows how to win no matter what? Not me of course, either win by 25 or it's crap. As far as I am concerned the Jets have barely beaten the Bills. I'd rather be 3-5 than 7-2, if those 3 wins are won by 50 or more. (sarcasm)
It's not that we keep winning close games, it's that we keep winning close games against mediocre teams. If we can win a close game against an elite team (Patriots, Steelers, etc.) then there's nothing to complain about.
A few of the plays called vs. the Browns left me scratching my head. Umm, pass 2 plays in a row on 2nd (and 3rd down!) with 2 yards to go? What the... No RB has put up 100 yards vs. the Jets this season. I see that staying intact vs. Bananas Foster. My over/under for Bananas Foster is 95 yards. And I like Revis and/or Cromartie on Johnson. Need to see Schaub gotten to/rushed early and often.
There is so much parity this season in the NFL. Actually, it's kind of refreshing to see, I think. Week in, week out, it's been more interesting. The Jets should have tamed the Lions much more handily, even though the Lions are a team who played the Packers much closer and tougher than we did. And the Browns are no bunch of bums. They scored more points vs. the Ravens than we did and have lost 4 games by 7 or fewer points. And in consecutive games they beat the Saints and Patriots by a combined 33 points. The Jets still desperately need to elimiate DUMB, gain-nullifying penalties, but a win is a win... esp. on the road in OT... and if the playoff picture is going to be as tight as currently indicated. But we beat 'em both. Let's go, Gang Green. Let's get a win at home this weekend.
Who cares what people say though? How great would it be to hear someone call the Jets the luckiest, overrated, Super Bowl Champs ever? I'd love it.
In Sept. 1982 fins QB David Woodley caught a TD pass against the Jets at Shea. IRRC he pitched it right to Tony Nathan. Nathan started to run then wheeled around and threw it to Woodley who was at that point all alone on the left sideline and he just walked in to the EZ. I know - cool story.
Eh, same old Texans with new Arian Foster. Too bad our Rush D is Top 5. Revis shut down Calvin Johnson, he will shut down Andre Johnson. He did last year. If Schaub even thinks abou throwing it to where Darelle or Cro are it'll be a pick 6. They really need to bring the heat on Schaub and make him fumble, sack, tackle, whatever gets the fans louder. Hopefully well see that from recuperating Calvin Pace. Sanchez will have another good game. But D'Brick is gonna have his hands full with Williams. Or hey can just double team him, the Texans don't have any other good rushers.
I can see Owen Daniels being the only problem because TEs do well against the Jets... but Owen won't be playing against the Jets. Their offense shouldn't be able to move the ball, similar to the last time we played them. My preseason predictions mean nothing.
Jets defense makes some big plays, we pick one off and run it in for a touchdown, 2 fumble recoveries in Texans territory, Jets 38, Texans 17, Nick Folk hits all his field goal and extra point tries, Sanchez has a big game at times look un-stoppable against the Texans. Foster rushes for no greater then 82 yards. And Just because I hate the Giants, they will lose to Philly next week as I prediced they would lose to Dallas, Eagles- 28, Giants 24
Now that every team has had its bye, feast your eyes on these mouth-watering stats for the Texans defense. 31st in points allowed 31st in yards allowed 32nd in pass yard allowed 15th in rush yards allowed
I don't even care for the TD pass although that would be sick. But a Brad Smith pass to Sanchez at the sideline next to the 1st down marker and Sanchez just steps out of bound? That would be great. Shit if old Brunt Favre can do it to US we can definitely do it.
I think we can pull this one out, the Texans are like the cowboys tho, much talent, from texas, but not playing well. At any moment they can score 35, and play decent defense and they will win. I went to highschool with one of their TE, Garret Gharam From Brick, NJ went to Brick Memorial HS. There is going to be a lot of supporters there this weekend. Not me tho
We already did beat NE.... And Cleveland and Detroit are a little better than mediocre and have beaten good teams themselves on the road.... THIS is the NFL.... I remember when The Pats "lucked" their way all the way to a few Super Bowls... That's the way it happens.... you Win and you learn and you develop all while peaking for the playoffs....
