I would like to see a new franchise QB, but why would the Jets trade for Ramsey if they will draft a QB? They now already have CP,Ramsey who will battle for the starts and Brooks as a backup.

That is true... but if you want to compare it to the Eli trade, look at it like this:

    Giants give up:
    Rivers
Future 1st round pick (in a weak draft class)
    Future 5th round pick
    3rd round pick

    Jets would give up:
    #4 overall
    2nd round pick
    3rd round pick

By the Giants keeping that 2nd round pick in that draft class, another particularly deep one, they were able to steal away Chris Snee, their current starting guard, and a good one at that.

By us trading away that 2nd round pick, we could be trading away, in theory, our Chris Snee (Nick Mangold, assuming the Saints don't snatch him up, or maybe one of the other late-1st/early-2nd linemen).

I just can't see it being a smart move. The Giants also had a better offensive line at that point than we do now. If we are going to get that franchise QB, we ought to protect him.

Any idea on what the draft looks like next year as far a depth.

CP is most likely gone next year, Ramsey is the stopgap for this year, and brooks... Its been real....

Leinart may very well be the best college qb ever, AND you don't know what the exact trade would be. It all depends on how our guys feel about leinart. If they like him that much you have to trust that they're making the right move.

Do you really think we could win a championship with Ramsey or the golden boy?:)

That is what I'd like. I don't think the draft next year is as deep as it is this year, but don't quote me on that. I guess it is too early to judge anyway. But if the Falcons cave and give us their 1st round this year, I'd gladly trade up for Leinart.

Leinart knows how to win?! Then why did it seem that they had chances in the title game and Leinart was the one who was off. I understand that's not the only big game he's been in, but it was A big game.

I feel that if we draft Leinart and he does good during pre season and all then start him...no need waste this year and possibly next..I never understand why a top rated QB out of college always needs to sit a year on the bench, as long as we get the OL fixed to where he's not getting killed every time he drops back then let him learn on the field. I don't see how it benefits him to sit on the sideline with a clip board in his hand.

Actually no, but stranger things happend. But I can not understand why the Jets sign ? new QB if they will get one in the draft anyway? Or do you think they will preapare for the case that they have to use a 4th QB this year too?

If Bush doesn't throw the ball to Texas then USC would've won!

Because they know chad won't be playng on opening day most likeley, so they don't wanna throw a rookie into the fire right away. That is ramsey's purpose on this team IMO

That is the problem with evaluating players. Just like his "weak arm," people will focus ONLY on the negative aspects of his game. People are willing to ignore his extremely long winning streak and his national title the year before, and his performances in those game, just to point out his short comings in the ND game and the Texas game. People are willing to point out his "weak arm," but at the same time ignore his leadership, his accuracy, his great pocket senses, etc. No matter how much the negatives outweight the positives, people ALWAYS, ALWAYS, are willing to point out what is wrong. Perfection is never available in a player.

duckett and a 2nd rounder doesnt seem to bad, as long as its not trading UP

trading up is the worst thing they can do at this point. unless they are wholeheartedly set on leinart an if they are ill just bring a vomit bag and a cage to protect my tv set on draft day

if we get atlanta's or seattles first rounder, then i would be willing to trade up for our 2 first rounders, but our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rounders?????HELL NO this is a draft with many good players and we need those picks
