Dorsey’s a good positional talent evaluator, but many believe Reid was the reason Mahomes was selected. Kingsbury (Mahomes college coach) said he never even spoke with Dorsey, only Reid... But let’s be honest Darnold’s going number 1.
I'm sure ried had some input. he's an offensive guru in the NFL and has been for over a decade. If i was a new GM i'd listen to ried for sure. In the same sense a GM doens't need to personally talk to people. he gets reports from his scouting department and watches film on players. With that said, I do believe darnold gets taken 1st overall and that the giants stay put and take a non QB (however if for some reason the browns don't take darnold, the giants will) but in any scenerio I see us always having rosen as an option and if we take a QB not named rosen with him on the board, i'd be pretty miffed
I have voiced that I am not a Allen supporter before, but because we have posters here that swear by him, I watched some more tape of him. WAY too much scrambling around for my taste and a really don't like the throws he makes when he is about to go out of bounds. Those passes are entirely way too risky in the NFL. Still not a fan lol
Good chance - Darnold goes 1, Rosen 2... And the two QB's that we've all been debated are on the board for the Jets... If the Jets pick the bust and either Allen or Mayfield get selected after and dominate, it will be such a kick in the balls... LOL!
Agree, he has poor anticipation, pocket presence, inability to read a defense, and is slow to react + bails way, way too much.... Still, his throws when on target are a thing of beauty + he 100% looks the part. It's also fair to say that there's not much else out there (now or past NFL) that compares to Allen. As far as raw throwing talent, this guy is off the charts + can see why teams + posters here love his ceiling.
It could happen but it's not looking that way. I wouldn't call it a good chance. The browns are taking a Qb at 1, and deciding towards allen or darnold (but rumors are leaning towards allen) The rumor with the giants is they will only take a QB if Darnold is there, they won't take any other one. They also don't want to trade down (we offered them and they declined). So it seems that rosen isn't in the running for the 1st 2 picks only darnold and allen. The jets should have their choice of QBs not named darnold.
NO question that he has that wow factor. Couldn't agree with you more on that. I am just worried he can't be consistent enough to be effective.
