Agreed. Really liked what he showed last year. He could very easily be our 3 although I'd like a speedier guy in the slot and Kerley was the closest thing we had.

Last year's play. Late in the year he was a really good #3. Don't you remember Dallas' game? He was clutch.

based on fit. thompkins outside and decker in the slot is better than decker outside and kerley in the slot. for this offense anyway.
but i like kerley and think he got too much crap for his punt returns. most of his fair catches were out of necessity and he is a nice slot player. i am sure he will play much longerin this league and i wish him the best

No, he shouldn't have. If he is as talented as you claim, he would have had that role.

He was misused by the current staff. As a #3, he can produce. But they refuse to let Decker be a true #2 and that cut his time.

I'm guessing he slept with someone's wife.

Like I said earlier, Kerley had the nerve to show up to training camp 20 pounds lighter and 5 inches shorter than Enunwa and Gailey never forgave him :)

Kerley hardly played and when he got his chance he looked good.
I'm basing it on the fact that Kerley has proven himself to being an above average NFL receiver. Thompkins is only a fit due Gailey liking bigger receivers playing in the slot like Decker while having a speed guy on the outside like Thompkins. Outside of the system Thompkins is not the better receiver.
Lol at talented as I claim as if you can't watch the tape for yourself. Kerley was a good/solid receiver for us for years and now all of a sudden Kerley is a scrub. Interesting.

Maybe we'll get a good returner, who knows.

    People have short memories, lol.

This coaching staff just didn't like Kerley for whatever reason, doesn't make him a scrub.

I'm in the minority but Kerley never did it for me. His value was more a reflection of the pathetic WR talent we had, versus true talent he had.

    Scrub ? No

But a slot guy who had no particularly exceptional talent, ie: speed, size, hands, or PR ability just has no place on a roster with decent talent.

LOL all you want. I like Kerley. I wanted the Jets to draft him and they did. He was a good player for us when we had little offensive talent, but hasn't been as successful in the NFL as he was in college.

We have a different OC and HC now and they see things differently. They obviously think he's not that talented or is too short or too slow to be effective in their system or some combination thereof. Deal with it. You don't know more than they do. They would have to be stupid to not use him if they thought he could play and contribute at a higher level than Thompkins or others. Gailey has a track record of finding ways to use talent. So he just decided with this one player that he was't going to make the effort for whatever ephermal reason? Right. Kerley could basically only play slot WR. The Jets wanted receivers who could play all/any WR position. Decker can play outside, but he's most effective in the slot. I suppose you're going to tell us next that Kerley is better than Decker? If you can't see how he's limited by his size and lack of speed/quickness, then the joke's on you.

Do you know what you sound like? You sound like a teenager who failed a class and then claimed it was because the teacher didn't like him.

Kerley's not a scrub, but at his size, he had limited value for the Jets since he isn't a burner, and couldn't play outside.

He doesn't have the size Gailey is looking for. Because outside of that I'm not sold on the idea that receivers who has never done anything in the league like Thompkins and Owusu are better than Kerley. Those guys have the physical tools that they look for which are size and speed.

Oh and Kerley played on the outside a ton between 12-14 and he more than held his own.

So now you can admit Devin Smith is a bust because Kerley was better than that waste of a second round pick?
