Coles had 2 great seasons and a great half season in 2001-2003.

If you look at his production since then from an unbiased point of view he really has not done a lot. You need to get to 14 yards a catch and score some TD's not to mention having a decent YAC to be really valuable at receiver. Lately Coles has been an average guy with a heavy workload.

I like Coles, but he is a very good receiver, not a great receiver. If the right deal comes along, I saw do it. And Tangini has shown they are not afraid to pull the trigger. With that said, I don't think there is a better option available.

Trade Coles for Porter, and sign Rogers........big risk with Rogers, but at this point, what do we really have to lose? Mangini might be the guy to set him down, and straighten his act out. Maybe i'm just grasping here, but ya never know.

WR for WR interdivision seems unlikely. But if the Jets want Coles gone enough, I think they would trade him for Branch. I'm not sure it could be done straight up though. Most of you guys would want something along with Branch, while I see it as wanting something along with Coles.

Im thiinking Randy Moss, It is no secret that he is not happy and wants out of LA. This is the only possible upgrade I can think of.

They had good chemistry for 1 year--I would trade him if they could get a real #1 receiver.

hey wheres jetsin2004? now maybe I wasnt so stupid to say that coles is a negative malcontent in the other thread huh????this guy has a bad attitude, and hes nuts and Id welcome his departure...but as many have said a WR for WR is kinda odd....someone wants to give us a first rounder for him? no fuckin brainer

Chad + Moss might have better chemistry than Chad + Coles, though in Marshall Chad could actually get the ball very deep to Moss, it remains to be seen if he can do that now.

the good thing about Moss(not that I see that happening) is that Chad can just float the ball up in the air and moss can go get it.....If they still want Chad to be the QB when are they gonna realize they need a big, big receiver? that will make up for the lack of zip....small receivers like coles and a weak arm doesnt work

Lets trade our best wr....to UPgrade wr....this news makes absolutely no sense.

Now if they were going to get rid of coles b/c he's been complaining...thats another story.

Remember when the Media asked Mangini about the great chemistry coles and pennington had and he said "I think He (coles) would have great chemistry with any QB". Thought it was a great compliment...perhaps setting up a trade?

WTF? Are you kidding me? Coles is our best reciever, no way Branch is an upgrade. Coles had a good year last season considering the circumstances.
This is not going to go over well if we trade him.

If we can get a better WR then sure, he is too small for a possesion reciever, all of the successful small guys are home run hitters
