There must be some wild times going on in the Jeto household to adamantly avoid spying as you are! In other news; positives and negatives of Hulu? What's the UI like? I'm curious as I've never used it.
Have a friend who has cable? Then just simply download the channel's app you'd like to see and use your friends cable login. So for example you want to watch AMC or NFL Network. Just download the app and use your friend's login to watch NFL Network Live on the FireStick and it will work. Same goes for espn too.
Heard about another one called GoSurf TV. About $400 for the loaded box, no monthly payments. Their website shows up in Chinese, Facebook hasn't been updated in three years. At one time they were being sold at Target, KMart and WalMart. now it looks like mainly eBay kind of places. A little searching seems to indicate that the boxes are legal but you may be stealing copyrighted material if you pull down that kind of programming. Some ISP providers may be looking for this (especially if it competes with their TV operations) but there is some kind of VPN program that you can install to mask their ability to see what you're viewing.
Well I am about 2 weeks away from finally cutting the cord when I move to my new place. I'll have a jailbroken Firestick and paying $29.99 for 50 MBS, dropping down from 500 MBS which was probably overkill for what I needed. Anyone been using a Firestick for a while know how often I'll need to update it and how hard/easy is it to update?
By jailbreaking, you mean you can side load any android app on the stick by just checking the "install from unsupported source" or w/e it's called in the developer options? If so Amazon does the updating when you're not using the device.
Appreciate the reply but I changed up a little. Just going to keep my Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu, then add Philo for $20 a month and ESPN+ for $5 a month. Amazon I would have anyway for all the stuff I buy there so no real cost to me and Hulu I got free with a phone I bought about 3 years ago and they haven't asked me for any $ since. So $13.50 for Netflix, $20 for Philo, $35 for internet, and $5 for ESPN+. $73.50 a month vs. the $125 a month I pay now for less content and more hassles. And I was on the introductory package so the $125 was likely going up to about $200 in a month or so. The firestick would have saved me a bit every month but I'm OK with paying less than $75 when $35 of that is for the internet I would need either way. Also have an amplified HD digital antenna for my local channels. I have heard they do a pretty good job but most of what I watch is streamed on either Prime or Hulu so if the antenna doesn't work I have that.
I'll get into the first part another time. I've touched on it before. I wound up getting rid of KODI, haha. There was some kind of an update thing and I got so frustrated with it after a month that I uninstalled it, as well as Xana x Wizard. I did this filelinked thing instead, and I can basically pirate the shit out of anything I want. I've been encountering a diiferent problem, though, and I hope someone can steer me right. I cannot for the life of me watch Hulu on my laptop through my browser I can log in with no problem, but as soon as I try to watch something: We're having troble playing this. Hulu error code: P-DEV302. It's been goung on for two months, I've exhausted everything they've told me to do, and no-one can figure it out. I threatened to cancel, so they gave me 2 weeks credit and said they'd get back to me in a week or so. I'm convinced it has something to do with ads and tracking even though I've turned my ad blocker off to see if that's what's causing it. Anyone have any idea? Thanks.
