    REAL Jet fans?

What about the Jet fans who witnessed Jenx & Co. walking into TN to play the 10-0 Titans and having Jenx almost single-handedly blowing up the Titans' interior OL? Oh and btw 'Jet fan' ... who was that Titan center?

Assuming you're the "Jet fan" that you claim to be, recall Anthony Weiner-Farve hitting #29 Leon with those on-the-fly screens into the red zone? Well, who set them up? While (early in the game) Collins' WR's did gag on some deep posts, it was Jenx that led the Jet defensive eventual line of scrimmage dominance...leading to Leon's eventual "put the game away 60+yd run* which unfortunately probably prompted 'wet-the-field-scumbag' Don Shula to "pop the '72 undefeated' cork" .... and Nick Boneaconte to tap the cheating s.o.b.'s ass....but I digress:

Jenx, Rico 'College',was a college football player (Terp). And maybe you weren't...no shame in that...but maybe, just maybe you didn't quite understanding Jenx' (injury or not) "football is life" mentality.

Man Beast. Kevin Mawae (a great one in his own right) would attest to that.

    Thanks Jenx.

When he was on the feild and healthy he was great....

if he was healthy 2 years ago we would have definitely gone to the superbowl
same goes for last year too

It was brought up by several beat writers over the last few years. Jenk was cranky in Carolina because they tried to get him to play at a certain weight (under 350). Rex did not care, and it became an issue. Not sure if it is in the contract because I clearly never read it, but I got that from guys that cover the NFL and have mentioned it multiple times over the years.

Kris Jenkins had both weight and workout bonuses worked into his contract. He also challenged Jenx (as well as Damien Woody) to a Biggest Loser type weight loss competition after he gained weight following his first surgery.

In no way, shape or form did Rex or the Jets not care about KJ's weight. Entirely the opposite.

I dunno if this might've been discussed in the previous pages of this thread, but it just occurred to me that at the time Jenkins is making this announcement, it's been, what, almost six months since coaches have been allowed to talk to players?

The front office will be busy, but I bet Rex Ryan has Jenkins at the top of his speed dial for the moment the lockout ends. He's not a guy to let one of his best players retire early without a fight, he'll use the Ryan charm to try and bring Jenkins back into the fold. Jenkins might be really, really sure about what he's doing (maybe retirement has more to do with getting a TV offer he couldn't pass up) but I'm not ruling out a change of course once teams actually start forming up.

Find one article that says the jets didn't care about jenkins weight. Don't worry I'll wait.

On a WFAN interview yesterday, Jenkins cited wanting to spend more time with his family as the #1 reason why he retired.

Rex cared about his weight. Rex wouldn't let him practice last season until he got his weight under control. Remember the whole Woody v. Rex. v. Jenkins weight loss contest and Jenkin's cookie diet?
