Singletary just lost a lot of control on this team I think...Earlier in the game, Martz wanted to go for it on 4th and 1, and Crazy Mike overruled him, and sent out the FG team. Now whats the first thing he says in the news conference after the game????..."Coach Martz called that play because he thought there was a cavity in their goal line defense...You'll have to ask Coach Martz." WTF??? Martz must be going crazy!! You didn't want me to go for it on 4th and 1, but now you blame the loss of the game on me??? JEEZ...thanks pal!
Singletary will not be a great head coach because he is an emotional wreck. Damn near looked like he was going to break down crying on the post game interviews and PC.
If that's really what he said, he should be fired. ANY head coach who doesn't say that he is ultimately answerable for anything that happens on his team is completely worthless. Just goes to show you that these supposed "tough guys" are often just full of hot air.
He was also talking about how Hill "took forever" to get the play off when spiking the ball. This was after they asked him if he felt like they could have had better clock management at the end. He said he definitely thought they could have, and then mentioned that Hill took forever to get the ball snapped. I didn't like how he threw his QB under the buss there. He should have just said "there were things we could have done better" and left it at that, instead of implicating the OC and QB.
Hill did take too long, it was ridiculous. And in addition to Hill taking too long the whole team took too long to get into position. If Favre did something like this the fans would be calling him a redneck and telling him to go back to deer hunting.
