0-2 count on Gardner with runners at the corners, Gardner thrown out for saying something to the ump, in comes Colin Curtis, takes three balls, and then jacks one. 10-5 lead. Fans want a curtain call.
The thing that pisses me off with Javy today is that all season I've been hearing how he never gets any run support and while keeping his ERA down can't catch a break. Today he gets a big lead early, and falls apart after starting off stellar. I'm just glad we caught some lucky breaks. Javy's still in line for the win. Our pen is painful though. Can anyone just get three outs? I mean anyone who isn't a first ballot hall of famer.
That was awesome. Curtis is now 4-8 with 6 RBIs as a pinch hitter. To be fair, David Robertson consistently gets it done.
Colin Curtis is making an argument to get to stay with the team. Personally, I like the kid. As for Robertson, yeah, I've actually been advocating giving him the setup role when Joba inevitably loses it. It's just frustrating that day in and day out someone in the pen is finding ways to hurt us. Given our shaky starters lately, we really can't afford it. EDIT: Yeah, Logan too.
No kidding. ----------------- Some interesting stats: Last 4 NYY starters 14.1 innings combined. FROM ELIAS: Juan Miranda, Colin Curtis hit HR for NYY in the same inning, the 1st time 2 NYY rookies hit HR in same inning since 1929.
I definitely want to see Curtis stick around. As long as he's here, there's no chance that we have to see Marcus Thames play the field.
and to be fair, im used to kansas city having an atrocious lineup, but keep forgetting theyre leading the majors in BA this year.
i made that comment before that thread was created, and apparently this thread needed to be resurrected so i could be reminded that CC's performance was my fault.
