Hahahahahahahaa.... that's pretty good, 214. I can picture "Broadway" Matt Leinart laying on his ass in Tennessee.
While that was one of the reasons, he also needed a minor cleanup on either his elbow or his shoulder, which would have made it rather difficult for him to throw prior to the draft. Granted, teams would have been more likely to take him than Alex Smith or Aaron Rodgers, who teams seemed to be looking NOT to take, but I don't know that his overall position would have been that greatly effected. I personally would be shocked if he goes after Young, Cutler, or both. -X-
Cant see him going after Young and Cutler...agree. I guess its easy to see how these kids think that they will still be worth it staying a year...in his case I totally agree. He would have easily been taken before the above mentioned....and received some crappy advise.
I dont want Leinart, just to many things that make me nervous. 1) I respect him for going back for his Sr year, but I question his real desire for the NFL. 2) His arm strength scares me, especially in the Meadowlands, in the playoffs(winter). 3) I dont know how he will mentally handle losing, he has always won, and when he got beat by Texas, I remember him making some stupid statements, just not sure if he will learn from mistakes, if he doesnt think he is making any. 4) IF the TITANS & Norm Chow, who probably knows Leinart better than any other NFL person, passes on him, BIG RED FLAG for me. I would rather Cutler than Leinart at 4 if we have to take a QB, although as I have stated on here before, I would prefer Mario or AJ Hawk unless Tangini does not have faith in Jones, and really feel D'Brick is the guy, i would be ok with that as well. I think "Franchise" QBs are overrated and overpaid and do more harm than good in the salary cap era. Defense and Run the ball. Let the QB manage the game. Side note, with all of the speculation on a QB at 4, what are the realistic chances we start the season with 4 QBs on the roster, or if we do draft a QB, does Bollinger get the boot?
