So it was YOU TWO GH and PF! Great, thanks a lot. Our whole season washed away by a broken cookie and a piece of talking meat. I didn't let my steak interfere with anything. I expect more from you.
I left the door wide open, but everyone wants to take it so damned seriously. I found someone else to abuse. My favorite fair-catcher! Timmy Dwight! No one can wave his arm in the air like that kid. He is even starting to show up Santana Moss in that department. BTW: The reason I used Leon is two-fold. 1) It was easy because he such a bad day yesterday compared to his performance the past few weeks. 2) I knew people would open the thread ready to rip me a new hole from my tail to my throat. (I expected it to be for Leon, not Penny though. )
Who else remembers the dropped pass by James Hodgins??? Stupid idiot better hold on to the ball if he wants to hold on to his roster spot!
Sonava.... See? There's someone ELSE to blame now. Can we trade that loser Coles back for Moss, so we can have the pleasure of cutting Moss?
well,i was thinking maybe it's time to start the crackerjack guy. The pretzel guy had his chance and has shown he can't sell in big games. And maybe during the offseason we can trade him for a 3rd round hot dog girl, and an upper deck beer man.
People are calling for Penny to lose his job, and Champ is busy bashing D'Brick, well we should be talking about dumping Leon too. Yesterday, his first rush was for nine yards. He finished the day with 13 carries for 22. He must really suck! Or maybe we should dump Mangini. Only a total assclown would try that onside kick to start the second half. We should actually start by tossing out Schotty Jr. What terrible preparation he had for this game. How dare he not have a flawless plan in place to beat the league's best defense? WTF does he get paid for? Justin Miller is another waste. We expect him to get us critical TDs off of kick returns. What happened yesterday? We ended the game with a goose egg, so obviously Justin wasn't getting it done. And how about Mangold? Sorry pal, you are the center for the NY Jets. No excuses, that penalty may have been the last straw I am willing to put up with from you. Let's not stop pointing the fingers, there's more blame to push around. What does Ben Graham get paid to do? Punt. That's it. (Fine, he catches snaps for Nuge, but big deal.) He can't manage to put enough air under the ball for Smith and Rhodes to get down there and down it inside the one? WTF Ben? Stop being a loser! And while Nuge is fresh in my mind, why didn't he nail some FGs this week? This is ridiculous now. What about our secondary? Allowing Chicago to score on a passing play? HOW DARE YOU? It should have been 10-0 the other way. ------------------------------------------- Whoa now. Wait a second. Let's ignore that I am firmly convinced we got a raw deal yesterday. Let's just go on what we have for our team, nothing more. Chad is still the best QB on our roster. You can love him or hate him. He had a bad day. It happens. You'd be crapping your pants too if the league's best defense was trying to feast on you. Leon had a lackluster day. So did Barlow. Houston was okay in his return, but he wasn't exactly "electric cedric" either. Let's try to keep in mind this was Chicago, a team many thought could go undefeated this year. Maybe Mangini tried that onside kick to spark something? It worked in the past. But whenever we fail, it's obviously the end of the world. Schotty coached a good game. We drove on Chicago. How many teams can stand toe-toe- with that defense and survive? I just thought the Miller comment would be amusing. Same for Mangold. Yeah, the Ben and Nugent ones too. We only gave up 10 points to the the NFC's best offense. The Giants, though battered, are still supposed to be better than us on D. I'd say we were far more respectable against the Bears than Big Blue was a week ago. Here's an idea. Why don't we try enjoying the fact that we are significantly better than anyone except RobA thought we would be at this point. The vast majority of this board was predicting 4-5 wins this year. Well, we already made it. And unless we manage to play like clowns the rest of the way, we have games against Houston, Green Bay (possibly without Favre,) Buffalo, Minnesota, Miami and Oakland, we can conceivably win another 4-5 games. [/rant] great post dude all these peple ready to bench the whole team it was starting to get annoying...
You mean... this post isn't serious? Damn, and here I thought it was. There's so much bashing going on, I figured it fit right in. Champ, didn't you feel like contributing?
Amen... The J-E-T-S look 5 times better at this point than ANYONE of us on this board last year thought..
I am a Yankees/Jets fan. I'll spell it out for you. The Yankees have a $200 million payroll, with superstars at every position, and are a lock to make the playoffs every single year. That places the bar of expectations at a somewhat high level. The Jets are coming off of a 4-12 year, with a rookie HC, rookie OC, a rookie DC, an OK platoon at RB, two rookies on the OL, and no pure pas rusher on the D forcing the CS to blitz on almost every play in order to generate some pressure. That's how I see this Jets team - different sport, totally different situation - so when they come out of Foxboro and a home game against the Bears, I'm happy they split those games. It's not the end of the world that they lost yesterday. Not to mention there's this thing in the NFL called the salary cap, so to have Yankee-like expectations for any NFL team year in and year out is just non-sensical.
In all fairness to pretzel man, you have to have the tools to be successful. His marketing pitch is great, but you can only fool people for so long. Those pretzels taste like wet noodles, so how can anyone really expect too much? It's just not fair. All we can ask him for is to go out, give us all the hard work, dedication, and intelligence he brings, and hope it all works out. Also, the Crakerjack guy has the ability to throw his product farther. It's only logical that he is going to reach his target farther away. Sure, he is going to miss sometimes and hit someone in the head, but things happen. That hot dog girl is overrated. She hasn't succeded in a park known for hot dog consumption. What makes you think she will come here and be successful? I hear the beer man just signed in New England. He's off the market, but it doesn't matter. Better he goes there. He is known to spill his beer all over people who are not meant to have any of the product. Bonus points if you match the player to the concession agent.
