Not a fan of Fitzpatrick at all. Or Geno Smith. Hope the Jets also draft a QB if they plan on going with Fitzpatrick in 2015.
I like the idea of getting Fitzpatrick. If we do draft Mariota, Fitzpatrick should be good enough to keep him on the bench for at least a year. Geno as the backup means that Mariota would get a true year to sit and learn how to actually be a QB.
I like your strategy but Fitzpatrick is just so uninspiring for me. Not that Hoyer or any of the other guys out there are inspring--but for me it's like Ryan Fitzpatrick? Really? _
Jets aren't drafting a QB at 6 to let him sit. There will be anarchy at Metlife if Mario isn't under center Week 1.
I'm thinking the same thing. If it comes down to Geno and Mallet, I'm going to go for the place where the new FO/CS doesn't hold any ties to the incumbent QB.
At this point, are any of the QB's inspiring? The most inspiring thing for me would be Geno turning it around.
I don't want Mariota in this situation than. If the Jets aren't willing to sit him, than they shouldn't take him.
I'm sorry, I must have been watching a different QB suck terribly the last 2 years. What would be a massive upset is if Geno is starting.
Yeah because most Jets fans are stupid. Mariota would have no business starting in week one just like Sanchez didn't and just like Geno didn't.
OK, maybe, but that's not what he said. My opinion is that there's a very low probability of Geno ever being even as good as Fitz.
just like last year there are only mediocre QBs available at the moment. didn't make sense to overpay for mediocrity last year at CB and doesn't make sense to overpay for it at QB. the offseason is just beginning.
Fitz is what he is. But beggars can't be choosers. There's nobody else out there. Matt Moore maybe. I wouldn't pay him starter money. But he is a smart vet who knows Gailey's system. It wouldn't hurt to have him in the QB room with Geno. And he would be an above average backup. He was able to cut down on his turnovers last year by a substantial margin.
