If in truth the O collapses, it will be because they are not executing and/or the talent is not that great(other than more injuries, of course, which would mean no more than that too many players are hurt).. The O may have been less good than the Schotty Haters think is due and all of us would prefer, but it has never COLLAPSED in the time he's been here.

So I wouldn't worry too much about that .

That's fine, talking trash about your opponents but about this? Sounds like disatisfaction in the club house to me, should they let that hang out? I don't think so but whatever...

It hasn't done a Bruce Arian collapse like the Steelers in 09, but in 08 the collapse was bad on both sides of the ball, and it wasn't just Favre.

35 times in the Seattle snow against a defense that had no one on it to stop the run.

That's the kind of philosophical problems I've always had with Schotty. I've also given him credit for great playcalling, usually late december into january.

    Fair enough.

Look, it's Friday afternoon, I gotta leave early, and we'll see what happens in Baltimore.

Each game provides more evidence on stuff like this. Fact is we don't really know the context of LT's remarks. And I am not so sure the bit about "predictable" is all that damning. I see many here chiming in "Of course that is true!" but I can remember an equal number of Schotty Haters complaining in the past that he's "too cute", runs too many gadget plays.

I for one didn't like that on 3rd and two in a four down situation they passed it twice. Maybe he was trying not to be predictable.

I wish he'd been more predictable there, but... Maybe he thought the OL was not up to pounding it in for a first down or TD.

Anyway, we'll know more after the next game and as the season progresses. In the meantime I doubt BS gets fired before the Ravens game, so I hope we see a decent offensive effort at least.

I think Rex should have cut Schottenheimer out a long time ago, he should have been gone after last year, quite frankly. I also blame Bill Callahan for not having this o-line up to par. I always thought we'd be alright if we lost a player on the o-line, but I never thought things would be this bad.

Regardless of all that, Schottenheimer is still not getting these guys prepared. It's been years of this nonsense since he started coaching the offense. Same mistakes, the lack of in-game adjustments, the same cutesy plays, and the lack of attacking a defense's weakness.

Mark makes mistakes, yes, but there are people who could have coached him up better. Look at how Brees and Rivers ended up becoming better players after they were away from Schottenheimer. He's not the worst o-coordinator in the world, but he's not a good fit for this team.

Especially the lack of preparation that the offense has experienced for the past 3 years.

    Defcon 1 you mean.

But I agree. We're not going to fire anybody unless our offense/team is basically collapsing, and our offense isn't at that stage yet. I wonder who will be available to replace him if the Jets decide to go into a new direction as OC.

The Cuban missle crisis was Defcon 2. Unless you're suggesting the JFK administration was extremely nonchalant about the situation

The run game has been embarrassing thus far, and it needs to improve. Whether its Brian's fault, Bill's fault, or Shonn's fault. There just needs to be a drastic change to the scheme.

Scheme change or no, I still don't see our running game taking off sunday, not against Baltimore.

we can go back and forth about this forever, but the bottom line is that the o-line needs to do a better job... both in run blocking and pass blocking... if they stay with the status quo it will be very tough to win this sunday

DEFCON 1 would be Russians attacking the White House.

Skeptical about the line I hope you mean. If Mark can get comfy at all this year he would be picking teams apart.
