Yeah my point was that if they don't put him on IR it probably means it is a minor fracture and he could be practicing in 8 or 9 weeks. So if Leinart struggles but they win 3 games they might go to Schaub for the playoffs.

Totally agree. I am not worried and I think the Texans will still win 11 games. Andre Johnson will still make defenses respect the pass (and make our rushing more successful) than they have for the last 7 weeks.

Our offense does not have hard throws. Play action to wide open TE's, RB's can go for serious yardage.

Sanchez was the first guy I thought of since we now seem to be a "ground and pound" team (wtf?) and when I found Leinart throws less Int's, fumbles less and has a higher Cmp% I was relieved.

If he takes care of the ball we beat everyone on our schedule except The Bengals and Falcons. Might get one of those also. No one gives us a shot in the playoffs anyways so can't predict that.

Schaub has been playing like crap anyways this year.

At this point, the Texans are a running team, with a very good oline and 2 very good backs. Leinart is a downgrade for sure, but curious to see what he can do in what has to be his last chance. He will have Andre Johnson back.

Unless Leinart is better than he has been in his career, this loss will really hurt them come playoff time if Schaub is still out. Houston is built around running the ball and playing defense, shockingly. Unless Leinart is a disaster, which shouldn't be the case since he can still dink and dunk some, Houston should still take the division.

I like Leinart here very much and he has looked good with all the assets you mentioned plus MUCH better coaching. He is familiar with our offense and did a bunch of bootlegs in college.

It is gonna hurt if we get behind big in a game which is very possible in the playoffs. I doubt we will make a comeback with Leinart.

Texans will win 11 games easily.

A note, the comparison was of their rookie years, Leinart was much better as a rookie than Sanchez, but Sanchez progressed some and is probably a better QB now than Leinart.

Leinart's big question mark is arm strength. I would worry if I was a Texans fan about having to play Cinci or Baltimore in the first round, because they are such monsters against the run, and Leinart's arm makes it tough to stretch the field. Tennessee or Buffalo on the other hand are great matchups for them. Jets are the middle ground.

Schaub has one of the weakest arms in the NFL. Andre Johnson would have over twice as many TD's in his career if SD, NE, or Indy had drafted him. At worst it is a lateral move (as to arm strength). I actually think Leinart has the bigger arm.

Leinart got shafted in Arizona after his rookie season. Plus Kurt Warner is obviously just much better.

Greg Knapp and Gary Kubiak are quarterback gurus that have been teaching him for a while. If he cannot succeed in this stretch (which is very possible), he needs to find a new profession.

Really if he gets 10-15 completions per game and can do a good bootleg, Texans win 11.

The Texans should at least get to 11-5. Even with Leinart, I don't think the 1 seed is out of the question. Oh, and Schaub is now officially out for the season.
