    Agreed.

No downside to this. This is basically the role we wanted McCown to have all season.

Uh,no one here has said they believe that Petty or Hack are the future. Some may have suggested that we wait until they actually play a meaningful amount of time before pulling the plug on them, but no one has said they're our FQB.

Speak for yourself. I don't believe I'm the only one who wanted McCown to take the role of "backup."

I remember hearing that the Browns wanted to sign him as a coach but McCown wasn't done playing ... I'd like to see him as a coach on our staff moving forward.

I remember when Jumbo Elliot taught Jason Fabini to play left tackle and ended up as an assistant line coach under Bill Muir. After about a year Elliot wanted back onto the field. What I remember about Elliot in a backup role is that when he came in he was always a tackle eligible because he didn't need help from the tight end.

Did anyone notice McCown shaking his head nearly every time he heard the play call coming into his earpiece, especially in the first half?

Reasonable question, but sometimes it was the first play and it always looked like he was reacting to what he had just heard in his ear. Kind of like where the game thread was going at the same time.

i didn't record the game, nor do i care to watch it again. i do recall him shaking his head but i thought it was after one of petty's bad short throws. or maybe it was after they called another short throw and he was shaking his head because he knew petty couldn't make it.

Or because he couldn't understand a four yard pass on third and six...again.
