What happens to Pelfrey after this? Does he go the pen? I would like that. If Pedro shows he can start consistantly, put Laurence in the pen too. Maybe one of them replaces Mota...

As for this game, I'm glad to see the Philly series didn't actually kill us. Not that this one is over or anything, because you know, it's not.

You think it stems from him? I hope not. Rickey's awesome.

why is it a "good idea" to run there? what's the point. concentrate on not getting picked off rather then padding your stats with meaningless sbs, jose.

Six man rotation for a few weeks sounds like the plan for me. It would let some of the old guys get some rest. Then when the weather cools off in mid-to-late September the pitchers will get more crisp and be geared up for the postseason.

Also, I knew the Phillies series would not kill the Mets. The Phillies did not pass the Mets in the standings, they only got closer. It was just August baseball. Real baseball is on the horizon.

But who's #6? Pelfrey, who's had 1 impressive start this year, or Lawrence, who's been off and on? And what does the other do for a while?

Martinez, Perez, Maine, Glavine, El Duque, Pelfrey

    Humber and Lawrence in pen.

If Pelfrey goes back to sucking, try him in pen.

Maybe one of those three could be better than Schoeneweis.
