I don't know that he did anything idiotic. I have too much stuff on my mind to pay attention to baseball strategy these days. I just want to know why Glavine couldn't pitch another inning. Pitch count too high? His arm was about to fall off?
you heard it here first, by the end of the year castillo will be stealing bases as well as reyes does.
Memo to Joe Morgan: I am willing to go on record right now that by the end of the season Castillo will NOT be stealing bases as well as Reyes does.
The point is that Glavine went out to pitch, and as soon as he gave up a hit Willie took him out. Glavine didn't ask to be taken out, so saying that Glavine somehow doesn't deserve to win because his manager took him out too quickly doesn't make too much sense to me.
Yes, Joe, most teams would play the infield in with the bases loaded and none out down 6-3 in the 8th. Big whiff for Green.
Lo Duca with the surprising hit! Joe Morgan is truly idiotic. If Lo Duca was "determined not to hit into a DP" why would he swing at a ball about 6 inches off the ground?
Part 1 of the decision fails miserably. If Sosa stinks it up, yet another example of Willie's gut will bite the Mets in the ass.
