Shocked and thrilled to come home and see such a sharp game for the Mets (although stringing a few hits together for runs would be nice). Sosa (and by extension Peterson) continues to shine. With Atlanta and Philly losing, the Mets are up 4.5 and 6, respectively, despite their poor play recently.
Did I mention I never bet Mets games correctly? At least I hit the under. I give up with you guys, but go ahead and sweep Detroit. That would be awesome.
Sosa was unreal last night after having a few hard hit balls off of him in the 1st and 2nd. All I can say is thank God for having Omar pick this guy up off the trash heap. We still need the offense to start clicking, but I will at least admit that Durdin had some nasty stuff with him last night at points. It was good to see Wright go opposite field with that homer as well. I still can't believe he leads the team in homers now with 10 after going homerless in April.
I read an article last week about Omar not liking Sosa and was talked into signing him by his assistants & scouts. It seems like the Wilpons made the right decision a couple years back when they realized the whole FO needed to be replaced. It seems Mets are in good hands now from Omar and on down..
I read that same article, I was more alluding to him trusting his men and getting a deal done. I agree that this FO seems to be very solid and pretty much no one could argue with the overall results thus far.
I guess HoJo isn't on a first name basis with some of the players, since he managed to get 2 out of the 10 starters first names wrong.
I see Beltran scored on Rodriguez' error - did Pudge throw the ball into CF on the steal attempt or something?
Castro must be thrilled that he's the catcher and Lo Duca's the DH, rather than vice versa. He might not survive this inning.
