I'm not miserable, the team is playing miserably.

It's a long season...there are bad streaks and good ones. I don't think we can get too riled up about being in first place in the division.

I'm not "riled up" per se. The apparent awfulness of the bullpen and the continued terrible play of Delgado are the first real concerns as a fan this season though.

Hopefully our offense improves with Shawn Green coming back tomorrow

    some thoughts:

1)Dick Stockton is a horrible announcer. a)he was pretty openly cheering for the Tigers. b)he made a whole bunch of mistakes, including not realizing for several seconds that Wright hit a homer, acting all exciting and saying a Bonderman strikeout ended an inning, then finally realizing it was only the 2nd out, claiming Beltran was leading off after he made a catch, when it was really Valentin.

2)FOX did an all-around bad job on the game. constant interruptions, one time breaking into the game to show us steroids strike out, and another time going to something but we instead got a blank screen and an image of a red sox cap. They even showed us some stupid bitch with an upside-pink sign about Inge.

3)I would've left Oliver Perez in one more batter to face Granderson. They brought him in the previous inning, and he had been benched so as not to face Perez!

4)Reyes must've known they were bringing in a lefty, because he was in the on-deck circle batting right-handed.

5)Remember the pop-up that Valentin let drop in front of him? The announcers screwed up badly. Delgado DID touch first, although he did it late, right before he threw to 2nd.

6)Even though Father Time and Schoenweis didn't play today, they still suck and I want them off the team.

I know he got Jose Valentin wrong. He called him Tony. I'm like WTF? How can you be calling out lineups and not know the names!

by the way, david wright ducked under a throw to first base which just got him. Had he not ducked, the throw might've hit him and he could've been at second. Take one for the team!

oh, and the birds all over was funny. I was waiting for someone to get distracted by a bird flying in front of them or something. Didn't expect a repeat of the Randy Johnson thing, but that was possible as well.

No help today, as the Braves and Phils both won.

How about when he insisted that it would be better to throw a meatball to Ledee than walk him and then the pitcher did throw a meatball to Ledee and he hit a double and Dick still insisted that was better than walking him? Please explain to me how one base is worse than two bases.

    that was another gem.

I think he was saying that he liked it more, that the pitcher didn't back down and threw strikes. he apparently hates when pitchers walk guys.

I get what he was saying but the way he phrased it made no sense. He was literally saying that giving up a double is better than walking a guy.

It is absolutely mind-boggling how many runs Delgado has cost the Mets this season. And why exactly is he batting cleanup against a lefthanded pitcher?

Wright makes it moot, as he goes yard. 3-0 Mets.
