You don't really expect them to devalue their investment do you? Show me the best thing or two MacCagnan and Bowles have been quoted about Petty. I think you'll find there's no substance there.

With the schedule we have next year the last thing we need is a new qb in a new system. Our only shot at the playoffs this year is with Fitz and a top defense

Is there a better situation for a quarterback to step into than what is being presented by the Jets this year?

You have Marshall and Decker as your 1/2 and Matt Forte in the backfield.

Plus our more than decent defense...

A clapped out JUGS machine would land us a wild card slot.

Fitz is going to handicap this offense with his tired arm. We need a young QB who can stretch the field with his ability to throw deep and use Devin Smith speed.

Fitz in my opinion is not the answer, he had shown his capability for 11 years now and still could not lead the jets into the playoffs last year with an easier schedule.

What makes anyone think that he is going to get it done this year, with a tougher schedule?

He is an average QB, that's all he will be, it's just not good enough.

Don't forget he also had 96 intercepable passes (and probably more), singlehandedly lost the Bills game, his punting sucked too and he can't cover a wheel route for shit.

Why would you see yourself as an incompetent fan?

Those receivers could help out a young QB like Mett or Petty, or Hack. They make life easy for a QB.

The argument could be made that with a better QB those numbers would have been better and the Jets make the playoffs by beating an average Buffalo Bills team.

He choked, it's that simple, same weapons, and he could not get it done.

There are going to be folks here who blame Fitz entirely for missing the playoffs when in reality he was one of the main reasons we were in a position to make them.

He threw one awful pass--ONE--a pass he hit on about eight times to Decker--and that blinded all of those types to everything else he did good.

Throw in some fake stats and he was the worst QB the Jets have had since Bubby Brister.

Fitz did put us in position to win that game...then he did choke.. every time i think of that interception in the red zone I think of how he could've easily dumped it to Chris Ivory for a 1st down or maybe touchdown if Ivory broke a tackle.

I honestly don't think Fitz will get us 10 wins again this year so I say let the young guns get something going. It's kind of sad because the QB position contradicts the fact that we are a "win now" team, but what's new? We'll just have to see what happens and hope for the best.

Fitz (maybe but I doubt it), Hack, Geno, or some how Bryce Petty... one of them is going to have to make it happen or at least show promise that he will be the guy moving forward.

There are no beauty queens in the field but Fitzpatrick is the only one that doesn't need a bag or two.

    Exactly.

I don't want to endure another 4-12 season.

I want to be entertained even if we're likely not a SB contender.

Mett's is 0-10 as a starter. He couldn't help his team eek out 1 win. Locker and Mariota won games with the same s.hi.ty team. It is hard for him to read defenses if he doesn't have a clean pocket. His coaches said that he was making mistakes in his second year that he shouldn't be making.

He's not a big enough improvement over Fitz and I don't even like that noodle arm nerd, or Geno and fans are gonna hate him.

Make the existing scrub QB's on the team compete and if Hack is the best, then let him start.

Blitz, I have not forgotten anything about last year with the Jets. The 4-1 start, then a 1-4 slump.

They finally stabilized the team, and had a good run.

All that being said, I want my team to get into the playoffs and get to the SB.

I enjoy them having a good season but I want more and I don't think Fitz is the guy to do that.

Pretty simple really. The shortcomings of the whole team cost us some brutal games earlier in the season too. A play here or there and the Bills game doesn't matter. We're in already.

Compete again this year and buy another year for Petty, and Hack.

Oh, btw, regarding the Bills game: with Ivory and Powell hurt Fitz should've run the ball more, and thrown some passes to himself out of the backfield.

Let's see Hack and Petty suck on their own. We already know Mettenberger sucks, and Geno too.

Reminds me of the pictures NYJATW used to post of himself in the BS Forum when he was a teenager. Disturbingly reminiscent, actually.
