Mayock was an NFL DB for several years.... so it's not like he's Mel Kyper, who would never put a helmet on to muss up his girly hair. Mayock said he's studied nine game films of Cutler this year. He has access to NFL films.... and he uses them. I would not discount his opinion quite that readilly. He has had Cutler at the top of his list since before the bowl season started..... even earlier, I believe.
If he was so good at this, he'd have an NFL job. I do not put too much stock in these guys. However, I agree, he has more credentials than Kiper.
mike who as in a guy who couldn't make it in the real nfl because he doesn't know what he's talking about, so he got relegated to a tv job
all i can say is watch nfl network. it's a great channel for any football fan. i think he usually does pretty good analysis' on there. he does the different positions and looks at the combine and other stuff.
heh, the nfl network is in-house garbage aimed at the diehard fan (meaning a person who loves the nfl, but basically goes by on what the media reports)
Mayock doesn't have a track record yet, so he's an idiot. Sorta like Mangini and Tannenbaum. News flash.... Mayock is making MORE money than NFL scouts do. His chances of having a successful career, and making more $ than scouts do.... make him less able to evaluate talent? Bradway, the super scout is MUCH smarter, right? He's our head scout! Tell ya what.... I have more faith in Mayock than I do in Bradway!
bradway also is terrible at making decisions because he doesnt want to put anyone off, i completely believe that herm and probably a few people close to him were the one's that most likely did the majority of our drafting...at least in the first few rounds
Bingo. Not saying anything about Mike Mayock, I generally tend to disagree with him on things, but seriously, what Mayock's being paid to do now is quite a bit better than taking a scouting job with an NFL team. Better pay, much less pressure, and much more exposure for his ideas; he truly is living a dream.
no its been reported by league people, including inside the jets when bradway was rumored to be, and then ousted almost everyone around the league views him as a very good scout, he's just not a decision guy
What Cutler did in bad weather is what really impresses me. It would be nice to put all three of them together and see how they perform in both good and bad conditions.
Thats really weird because in that last 8 weeks he has been doing spots on NFL All Access and I swear when he did QBs he had Leinart first...
