I'm not so sure... if you look at their numbers they're basically identical, Mo barely has 1 sack more than Gholston and that's it. One sack, that's all the difference between those two.
when he got the sack the last thing on my mind about was Vernon Gholston. that's like thinking about your ugly ex-girlfriend while banging a super model. if you are, you have real problems.
+ leads to Fired = Enter + Back to back AFCCG appearances and what looks to be at least a decade of great Jets football ahead. Which if it happens, and we end up winning a ring (or more) with Rex and Sanchez, Gholston is a gigantic reason why it was able to happen. Jets fans should love the man for that reason, and that reason alone. Same thing for Favre really, without his collapse, we don't end up with the best coach QB duo we have had since Vinny T and Parcells in 1998.
My issue is: why do you have the bar for Mo set so low? I think you need to think in lines as Ellis's replacement and not Ghosts.
I think so many people still aren't over Gholston yet. It's kind of like getting burned by an ex-girlfriend. Once Mo Wilk starts really showing what he's made of, I think the Gholston-Wilkerson comparisons will stop, as we start to realize there really is no comparison.
It may be only one but it is a huge difference. Ghost could not even mangage to fall on a QB for a sack in 3 years! Now grant you he did not get a ton of reps but those have to be earned in practice and he never even did that. And they called him a athletic freak!
