The rule states, "The umpire will stand over the ball until the Referee deems that the defense has had a reasonable time to complete its substitutions", this does not mean the refs have been doing it. The Jets just want to see the rule enforced, no harm in playing by the rules.
i expect the pats to try to get away w/this - thats how they roll: cheat to win. thats bellichick, always looking to push the envelope to give his team the advantage. Hopefully the officials will fairly enforce the rules and not allow bellichick to cheat.
Spoken like a true whiney self absorbed Jet fan who just can't stop making excuses for his clown college team.
One thing I know is that the Jets rarely ever get the benefit of the doubt on calls. Like the Holmes "fumble" a few weeks ago, the two "ints" against Green Bay in 2010, the Baker catch in 2006. There is a history of obvious blown calls against us.
We used to do this all the time when Mangini was here i think polian crying to the league led to the rule change (current rule)
Calling this "cheating" by the Pats is ignorant. Patsies made a substitution, Brady went up to the line, had to wait on the Ref to say he can snap the ball, and he did. The only thing wrong with this is that the Ref failed to do his job correctly. He didn't give the Broncos D enough time to substitute. A gaff by the Ref doesn't equal "cheating" by the Patsies. Its not Brady's job to enforce the rules, he waits for the official to place the ball down and allow him to snap it. Ref obviously had a lot on his mind and I don't blame him, that offense was flying at a pace that I don't recall ever seeing before. That or he did not notice the Pats made a substitution.
