Ill give the Giants credit for the Super Bowls. But from a popularity stand point, the Jets are at a level the Giants have never reached and probably never will. The Jets have drawn ratings the Giants never will just because they dont have enough fans and plus their boring as hell.
Even when the Giants won, they were lame. The Tyree catch was lucky. Eli is a doofus with a head that's the size of a Buick. Strahan was the most charismatic guy on the team and he's kinda corny (stupid gap and all). They just aren't a cool team to watch lol. Our DB's fuck hoes. Our coach is fat and sucks toes. We have cool catch phrases. A GQ worthy QB. Bart is a funny, charismatic dude dude. We're gonna be on Man Caves this weekend. Our staff curses ppl out on camera. We blitz people and make QB's bleed even in preseason. Our Jerseys are cooler. Santonio is cool as a fan blowing ice cubes. We're better than them. If you haven't noticed, I'm just randomly running off reasons it's cooler to be a Jets fan. meh =/
I love Rex, but he should never be drawn as a cartoon. Not even as a Statue of Liberty cartoon. He comes off looking like Fred Flintstone.
Couldn't have said it better myself. Bandwagoners will always be bandwagoners, Giants fans will be Giants fans and Jets fans will be Jets fans. Media trying to make headlines, nothing new.
You guys didnt see Rex's comments i guess http://forums.theganggreen.com/showpost.php?p=2236547&postcount=25 He says it is the Jets town. Which sprung that image and the articles.
Good post I didnt know he said that. Although it doesn't surprise me at all Rex would say this I still stick by the fact that its a facade. Of course whoever is winning at the time is the town favorite, theres really not much substance to such a statement. Even the Yankees, with all their 7,000 world series wins can have "the town taken over" by the lowly Mets when they are on top, if even for a minute. Still waiting on that one though. (wasn't born in 86)
I know that Rex has said that more than once, but the media plays this thing up all the time. I personally don't get into this whole "who's town is it?" Because I don't care. The metric is very easy - whoever wins more and has more buzz owns the town. That makes me sleepy.
You see that "Kings of Queens" headline on the backpages every now and then when the Mets are doing well, and then the talk begins about the Mets taking the city etc...
