This was a good analysis on Pouha though. I don't think I ever really discussed him on here but I never had an issue with him as a player. Without him the defense would have been sunk the last two years.
Interesting. When someone knows about a player in college and does their homework on them, they allow the patience for that prospect to develop and defend them when they aren't producing immediately. They know what's coming in due time. What a concept. Good call on your part TBJ.
mick, I am a firm believer in developing linemen, like Ducasse, as Pouha was, a project. I have less patience with some other positions, yes, like RB. Some positions require more technique and development than others, some positions require more instinct and other more measurable things. What I liked about Pouha and Ducasse is that they both had an incredible amount of undeveloped potential. They both didn't have a clue about technique, they are both very coachable, kids with great attitudes and a willingness to learn and put their egos aside. Physically they both had all the attributes as well. OK... McKnight. He's fast. He's undersized. I don't think his running instincts and vision are there. Those are things that are hard to improve upon. Strength alone was not enough for either Pouha or Ducasse despite their speed, stregnth and size. McKnight got by on speed in college. I don't really see what else he brings with him into the NFL, and speed is not enough. Like Wilson, he still hasn't learned how to protect the ball. That should not take very long. I question how coachable both Wilson and McKnight are. Miller had all the tools, but he wasn't coachable either. I thought Miller was Revis before we ever heard of Revis. I was wrong. So, we'll see. Just because I am not a McKnight beleiver in no way means I want to see him fail, quite the contrary. I hope he develops. I don't have much faith in the kid though, and I AM capable of being patient with young players. The ones I see something in.
Wow, dude, that one really hit under the belt. :lol: When I started that thread he was indeed getting more critisims than he deserved. I have since posted in that same thread that he now does deserve to get bashed. Schottenhiemer like Sanchez, has gotten worse, not better. Try to wrap your notorious brain around that. BTW, unlike most posters here, I have never avoided admitting to have been wrong about some things. I also have no trouble to having been right as well.
