What does this have to do with the price of tea in China? Come to think of it, what does THIS have to do with the price of tea in China?
I'll ask it again: What has Carr done, exactly? Not shit the bed as a rookie? Cool. Is your argument that because Carr is better than Geno, the Raiders have a more promising future than the Jets? Seems kinda weak to me.
The facilities and stadium in Oakland are worse than most power conference NCAA teams. My brother ran a football camp up there and told me he's seen nicer HS facilities.
They have Carr and Mack. 2 good young players on both sides of the ball. Jets overall have more talent, more promising young talent. I would easily take what the Jets have over the Raiders.
Pffftttt...you shut the f' up.... Not worth getting into it. I only mentioned "region" so I could see who might have had the opportunity to see Carr play outside our season opening game. Sadly, this thread and some of the reactions are "why" I have to defend myself from the typical Jets Fan syndrome. And yeah, from what I've seen I'd take Carr all day long and twice on Sunday over our loser in Smith. Not even a debate at this point.
Two points lost for credibility: Geno Smith is NOT a decent young QB He made no mention at all of cap space, contracts, or anything else that has allowed franchises to turn around quickly in this era
I'm perfectly happy to deal with this. Now stop sucking your thumb in the corner and come back out and play.
Potential candidates know the circus that is NY sports. Anyone worth their salt wouldn't come here. It would only be a matter of time before the person would be shown the door anyway. They know it and anyone who has watched the Jets long enough knows it too.
The negatives for the Jets: 1) No QB 2) The NY Media/Fanbase 3) The NY region (alot of folks don't like it here as a place to live.) 4) The curse of the Jets. 5) Gotta go through New England to win a championship. Perceived negatives that are in fact not: 1) Fickle/Clueless Ownership. In fact Woody gave Rex 6 years. And he generally stays out of the media unlike guys like Snyder and Jones. Positives for the Jets: 1) Talented D-Line. 2) Decent weapons at WR/TE and RB. 3) Plenty of cap room. 4) Friendly cap structure. 5) A lot of youth and a high draft pick. 6) All new facilities and a new stadium. What I'm getting at is other than not having a franchise QB (most teams dont) the negatives surrounding the Jets HC job are basically bullshit excuses and the positives are tangible. You cant handle Mehta and Cimini? You believe we are cursed/bad luck? Need Brady to retire before the Jets have a shot? Give me a break.
I'd put Chicago and Oakland behind us. Typical jets hatred but honestly when you have the D-Line that we have with the cap room and draft position we have for a new guy to come in and start fresh it definitly isn't a bad situation.
The jets situation is 10 times better than the Bears. The Bears benched Cutler the 2nd to last game of the season and they still owe him well over $100M over the next 6 year. Chew on that, new Bears coach.
