Honestly, if Brick can hold the 300+ weight, even just going by his talent level now, he's an above average LT. He's just gotta keep that damn weight up somehow.
MNF sucks anyway IMO. No big deal to me. But hey, we play on Thanksgiving. That's good for me.
Yep! That's one Thanksgiving Day game that I won't be falling asleep during half-time. I really do wish we had a MNF game though, I love telling my professors I'm leaving early to "pre-game" cuz the Jets are on MNF.
Mangold isnt underrated, he just hasnt made a big name for himself yet...harder to do when you cant accumualte stats to prove your worth Cotchery is underrated, Pennington is underrated...
Not a Coles fan, or just not of the opinion that he is a legit #1? You can argue the latter perhaps, but he's a tough SOB that makes the tough catch and comes to work every day.
you must not have watched football last season, college maybe, but not the nfl. mcneal was great his first year. top notch left tackle, probably top 5. he had a monster year and brick can't even be mentioned in the same breath with this guy. i know brick is a jet and all(and i have high hope's for him), but definately a homer post. mcneal blows brick away in run and pass blocking skills, not even close!!!
I don't see how Mangold can be considered underrated - he was a rookie center drafted in the 1st round, so obviously people knew about him, and I've only heard positive things about him since then. Being underrated to me means you've done things for a while in the NFL and no one has noticed, and he doesn't qualify on either count. None of which has anything to do with him hopefully being a stud center for 12 years, of course. Rhodes has only played two years (with his first one not being overwhelming), so I don't know if I'd call him underrated, or just "under the radar". I do think you can make a good case for Coles, however.
as much as i respect coles, that story is a bit biased when coles tells it. bobby bowden has always had a "3 strikes and you're out" rule...whether it be on or off the field. he believes everyone makes mistakesand deserves a 2nd chance, but after 3 times, it starts to become a habitual trait. for warrick, it was his 2nd strike, but for coles that was his 3rd incident and therefore got booted.
In hindsight- I'm glad that he had issues, he was a steal in the 3rd round and hes been a great player when on the Jets, and with Washington as well. Now hes mature and yes still bitches but its controlled bitching and he enjoys being with his best friend Chad Pennington and loves the direction the team is headed- don't we all.
It's nice to see them get the recognition they deserve. But reading that article just makes me realize how overlooked all of them are and it irritates the living hell out of me.
