Dansby will probably be better than Demario Davis in 2013 but I'd rather Davis get those reps. It's an intriguing option though.
ehh anything to get pace less snaps would be great, but its all about the price. This training camp will be a competition at almost every position, and that's how it should be for a team rebuilding
true dat. but, we just shipped a 4th round pick, and gave a 3 yr contract with guaranteed money to a back who was often injured and 4th on the saints depth chart. how many of his rushing yards were due to defenses primarily playing pass defense against the saints ?fftopic:
I don't think the Jets have $5M for a single slot at this point. They're paying two 1st rounders and they probably want to hold some space in case they cut Sanchez. I think maybe $2M-$3M at the outside.
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter 1m Cardinals announced they reached agreement with LB Karlos Dansby, who now returns to Arizona.
Nice call. 31 is the age when most players are just happy to have a job. If they can get a job somewhere they are comfortable that's a plus.
Veterans over 30 are quickly learning that the NFL has become a young man's league. If they get any type of reasonable offer regardless of the team, they are likely gonna take it
This is actually a good thing for the players over 30, although none of them would see it that way. Like punch-drunk boxers a disproportionate amount of damage is likely done late in the career when players are less able to defend themselves and heal less efficiently after the fact. You'd find only one player in a hundred who would admit it but the damage that gets done post-prime is not worth the money they earn in the process.
Yep. Made millions and with minimal wear and tear after college. People rag on Sanchez for coming out when he was not ready and failing but he made a huge amount of money that probably never would have been there if he didn't jump on the opportunity. The trade-off is that he got beaten severely over the 4 years.
