well, not specifically over 130 pitches, but I've seen a bunch of games this season where they went past where teams normally allow young pitchers to go. This was his first CGSO, so that's why they allowed it, I suppose.
Yup, been reading some Bay Area news clippings and listening to Bay Area sports radio(better then Canada crap), and the prevailing thought beforehand, was that the Giants brass really wanted to see Lincecum get a CG, and it being a SO makes it even better. They feel he is now a LOCK for CY Young, the first San Francisco Giant to win the award since Mike McCormick way back in 1967.
And on the pitch count issue, his father as interviewed last week after the 127 pitch game and they asked him if he was worried about his son losing arm strength, and he said Tim spend his offseason throwing about that many pitches every 2-3 days to build and maintain his arm strength, so he is not worried about it at all.
And it was in a near landslide. I'd personnally like to see the votes. Johan deserved more first place votes than Webb, and who the hell gave Lincecum a 3rd?
Congrads to my boy Lincecum. I knew it was coming. Dude is animal. wait til the giants get some run support(who knows when that is) lol
I was just reading and listening today to Bay Area radio, heard that the Giants plan on throwing gobs of money at FA this offseason and to contend, even gave the Giants a shot in the Tex sweepstakes. I doubt they get him, but it's nice to see them trying again.
