This is the third year of this regime. By the third game of the third year, absent major injuries (and the Jets are one of the healthiest teams in the league and have been for the last three seasons), you are looking at what the regime is capable of doing.

If the Jets can't compete with a stunned top rank team, as they could not compete with New England last week, at this point then the odds are they never will under Mangini and Tannenbaum. If the Jets lose against San Diego they will be 5-15 in the last 20 games under Mangini including the loss to the Pats in the playoffs in 2006. That will speak to where they are as a franchise at this point much more than anything else does.

Well no...we outpassed them...ran better than them...had more sacks...so you could argue that we outplayed them....except for their dominance on special teams and the 6+ penalties we committed...

BTW: We have absolutes like yardage and penalties and so on...yet you lean on the *opinion* that the CS is full of pussies and that loss was indefensible...I disagree.

I have no idea why you're so convinced this 1-1 team is on the edge and full of pussies and whatever the fuck else that one loss "taught" you...but it's a 17 week season and you're already up in arms. I don't see any kind of logic in it, especially since your entire argument is based on hindsight.

well, he right now has 09 guaranteed. So one more year to learn and so on... I'm thinking if there are adjustments made in the course of this year- then there is an outside chance that 09 can be better, Favre or no Favre.(Ratliff )

I couldn't agree more. Remember back in the 1980s when the Jets went 0-3 to open the season and then made the playoffs? (I forget what year it was, but still, it goes to show you.)

Whether the Jets win or lose, I'd just like to see them play well Monday night.

This post was in response to a post by Kurt (who I respect) that alluded to the fact that we wre catching the Chargers at the wrong time because they would be mad after losing to games that they could have won. My point was that the Chargers shouldn't have an advantage just because they would supposedly be more mad than the Jets.

where did I even allude to believing this CS was full of pussies? I didn't. I've clearly said that if the team plays the same as they did last week, it would clearly reflect the performance of the coaching staff. if you think you can dispute that, by all means, but I don't see how that makes my argument flawed because it is somehow dependent on hindsight.

how about you debate what I've actually posted and not make things up and then dispute your own made up arguments as if you are disputing what I've said. essentially, you are arguing with yourself if you continue to do so and dishonestly attributing one side to me.

besides, your entire ridiculous post crumbles under the fact that I clearly believe the team is capable of winning, thus believe the CS is capable of doing their job well -- the farthest thing from thinking they are pussies.

I don't put Tannenbaum together in responsibility with Mangina if we blow this year. Tannebaum did his job.
