I know it filled up but alot of people may just have came late for whatever reason. The parking lot is usually jam packed with tailgaters where I walk in and yesterday there were dozens of spaces in most of the rows.
More embarrassing is that as soon as Leon scored his second TD to put us up 14 points, 50,000 people got up and left for the exits. I mean, anyone with a brain knows that the Lions will score again to make it interesting. This upsets me. I hate leaving games early.
That really annoys me b/c then it assurs i'll hit some traffic on the way out. If everyone stays i can beat them to myu car and get out of there quick but when they started leaving early I get stuck in traffic.
Hey is it just me, or do you agree when I saw that "Sweet Caroline" is NOT meant to be played in an arena, especially during a football game. I wasn't at the game but did hear it via TV. Who picks the soundtracks which are played during the games? I almost suspect that it's a 40-year old guy sporting a greasy mullett and acid-washed jeans...
Yeah, Sweet Caroline and Minnie the Moocher always get the crowd fired up. They play these 2 songs almost every game, it's awful.
I don't know, I actually kind of enjoy them. I agree with you on the parking lot. I was there at 7:30 and there were still spaces in my area when we went in at 12:30, that hardly ever happens....
I have a possible reason for that. usually tailgates take up an extra 1-2 spots but when we got there and started setting up they made us condense the tailgate to leave another open spot. I assume they did this for alot of people so that is a reason there were more emtpy spots.
Then why don't those people just go to the stadium on game day? Any Jets regular season game except opening day, no matter what, you can score tickets at cost or below walking into the stadium. I don't know why people are surprised. The Jets have led the NFL in no-shows for years and years. I was at the game and while it may not have been packed, the spirals at gate D were certainly packed at halftime, and those people were finally rewarded towards the very end of halftime with a show that the Meadowlands crowd has patented. Do not bring your kiddies or your wife.
Yesterdays game was the first time since 1998 that we had a game with less than 77,000 (76,953 was yesterdays) I dont know if that means anything. I dont think the crowds will be a problem the rest of the year. Lets just keep winning.
Their were easily 70,000+ there yesterday...In the 2nd quarter, the place was close to full. It got loud on Detroit's 3rd and 10 then 4th and 10...It wasn't deafening, because in the Colts game, I could hear the crowd loud as hell from the TV... But yesterday the crowd was ok...Sweet Caroline being played was pretty funny, I had no idea.
The Stadium was about 90% full this week, and I thought It was better noise wise then the Miami game. I left after Leon's TD becuase if the Jets blew a 14 pt. lead with 3:00 minutes left, i did not want to be there to see it.
One more thing about Sweet Caroline. It was played near the end of the second quarter, right before Chad's pick. That song should be played in the 4th quarter when the game is safe!
If the Jets start blowing a 14 point lead, I suggest you stay because they need your support and crowd noise, and that goes for every person that left the game.
