My thoughts... 1. Not everyone is as big a Jets fan as we are. Sorry. But when #34 enters the backfield, half the people don't know it would be Houston. If #29 entered, half the people wouldn't know Leon Washington. Season tickets are as much a business entity as anything. My father got season tickets through doing a lot of work for Hess. 2. People are still hungover by the same old Jets. Nobody gets up on 1st and 2nd downs. Everybody expects the worst. 3. Sweet Caroline is awesome, anyone who disagrees with me is wrong. 4. Personally, I wish people would stand up every play on defense. On offense, I don't care as much, and the people behind me are nice people, but don't want to stand up every play, so I sit down, but I hate when people sit down on defense. The defense does see the crowd all stand up, too. The fact that tens of thousands of people are standing up to watch this one play has to have an effect and to amp people up.
Perfectly said Thanks for the post, you have absolutely said everything I was trying to say, and about a million times better.
Sweet Caroline is awesome, but only when the game is secure. It's supposed to be a victory song, not a rally-the-troops song.
I don't get this idea that because one team uses a song it must be off limits for everyone else. People get too worked up over these things. They use that song because it has the sing-along part where the crowd gets into it, the same reason anyone else ever used it. No other reason.
