I've been reading the Rangers are intersted in Justin Schultz? possibly a movie that will set up a big signing of a free agent forward? I can see them moving MDZ or another young D to pick up say Parise or Nash. What's the deal with the Devils salary cap? I know Kovi is making like 100 million in the next 15 years fucking insane.

yeah Kovy is killing that cap, but does it matter if they win the cup?

That is why I hope Anze Kopitar and Quick are the ones to do it

I know, that's why signing a Parise or someone similar is not crazy. If the Rangers are willing to spend, players have a quick change of mind.

Parise is going to get a shit load of money...More from the Red Wings...I think it will be between Devils and Red Wings. Surprise factor goes to the Rangers if they throw more money at him.

personally, it would be great to get a Powerplay point person with a killer shot. Suter would be nice.

The Rangers can't do that. That would involve benching one of the "clones" and prevent them from blocking over 20 shots per game, which most Rangers fans find unacceptable.

should be an interesting off season. I odn thtink theres a need to keep all of our D men. Wwe need to turn one of those fuckers into a goal scorer via trade.

Yes, my bad on the typo. But of the guys that started more than 38 or whatever games (including Rinne, Quick, Smith, etc.) Lundqvist had the best save percentage. I think it's hardly fair to compare a guy who started half as many games and was always fresh to the guys that carry the load. Just my opinion though.

Let's turn Tebow into a deep passing threat while we are at it too.

Why is that so crazy? we have a good core of young D. I am sure we could get another 30 goal scorer with the right trade.

by "turn" I mean trade for ya nut. I dindt mean we should tap Staal on the head with a magic wand and turn him onto a goal scorer

Girardi and McDonagh are the only 2 defenseman who are not expendable. I'd move Staal if we got great value for him.

I have missed this thread for the past few days... what do you guys think about possibly signing Semin? If the price is right of course.

I love giadi...but Staal is better. It took him quite some time to find his game once he came back but once he did........MDZ is the one to be moved...obviously McD is untouchable

Cannot move Staal, Girardi, McD...now if you can somehow move MDZ for an upgrade at the offensive d-man level then it might be worth looking into.

We need that powerplay shot from there aka like Ryan Suter beast

why is everyone so obsessed with revamping the defense? Last time I checked our offense could not score to save our lives in the playoffs.

I am all for moving a defensemen IF we get a solid forward out of the deal and maybe a veteran at the point, more physical less gordie howe

exactly..................we weren't going to win a cup with Carl Hagelin as a number one winger. It was silly to even dream of the cup. Wwe were a .500 hockey team in the POs. Thats why I picked the Devils in 6 :)

ANyway, we have to improve the O and we have a glut of talent on D...pretty easy to devise a plan of attack

I think Semin is a great player but he's even softer than Mary-Anne. Like, at least Gaborik tries to block shots and play defense (though he's small and not very good at it), Semin is literally softer than the Cottonelle Puppy. Parise would be a MUCH better fit for us.
