Semin is soft but his biggest problem is he floats around on another planet half the season. However.......everbody on the team doesnt have to be blocking shots. When Semin is on, hes a world class talent. The kind of goal-scoring talent we desperately need
Watch as the Devils will have to flop their way to victory against LA, just as they did against the Rangers.
Guys listen in to Fatso interviewing Torts today...Excellent stuff actually and I also added Torts interview with Michael Kay on ESPN Radio. Alot of insight...He flat out says we need another scorer and called out Gaborik for sucking Michael Kay interview: http://espn.go.com/new-york/radio/show?showId=TMKS Fatso interview:
This article claims Gaborik's poor play may have been due to injury... http://www.newsday.com/sports/hocke...ve-been-hurt-more-than-was-revealed-1.3746830 Not sure. Would like to believe it, but also still believe he's a choke artist
Him an Torts wouldn't work. You see how much shit Gabby gets from the coach and he actually tries to play defense. Semin, as you said, floats around a lot and then shows up now and then to unleash a devastating slapper or two. That wouldn't fly on the Rangers, not worth the money for a predictable malcontent and poor fit IMO when Parise, a guy with nearly identical offensive ability and isn't afraid of playing with some grit to boot is also on the market.
I agree that Torts would hate his fuckin face hahahah. Just Hagelin the fuck off my first line and Ill be happy
I cant read the Slovakian language but I got this from HF Boards, and Gaborik confirms he played through a torn rotator cuff and is now out 5 to 6 months http://hokej.sme.sk/c/6400887/gaborika-caka-operacia-ramena-a-dlha-pauza.html small bit of translation I feel bad for killing him during the Devils series
Tough to get on Gaborik about being soft now. Can't really blame him for not looking like a top goal scorer. Dan Rosen from NHL.com tweeted a quote from Gaborik, basically said he was doped up so pain wasn't an issue but the strength wasn't there. Also, the surgery has him out at least til November-December. That sucks.
I wouldn't go that far, because he's always played a soft game whether or not he was hurt. He does deserve credit for trying to gut out a bad injury though (I've torn my rotator cuff, it sucks.)
This news furthers my point that Torts' benching of Gabs for not blocking shots with his face was assinine.
considering he had 41 goals during the regular season and what. maybe 4 during the POs with a torn rotator cuff, he is far from the biggest problem right now. And IM no Gabby apologist...just sayin it like it is.
^That. Gaborik is pretty damn good. You guys need to add a sniper or two, the D is there and Hank is franchise.
Rangers may trade for Radulov. http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/rang...LiFF0nH9nK?utm_medium=rss&utm_content=Rangers That just has disaster written all over it.
Granted this team needs another person to put the puck in the net, I think the biggest addition will be a full season of Kreider. I still think if we try and trade for Nash again this offseason I would rather they try and pry Brown away from L.A. I know L.A. probably isnt going to trade him but he would fit in perfectly with this team.
