That would be cool if the SB was held in the NY area. This will never happen due to the weather. Football should be played outdoors no matter what the weather (minus lighting storms) and teams should not be allowed to play in domes. Real teams do it in the elements.

Never happen - can you imagine the stink that would be raised if there was a snowstorm and people couldn't get to their $3,000 seats because of traffic problems on un-plowed roads. While I agree with "play the game in any weather", the SuperBowl is different.

Fuck that. Teams bust their ass to get to this point and then play a game in probably one of the coldest months of the year on the East Coast? Hell No. I'm for the players, and I doubt if they would pick to play a Super Bowl in NJ over Miami or SD. If you were a player, you would prefer the warmer climate as well.

Soccer isn't played indoors or on astroturf.

    What about the fans ?

You think its fair that fans in the north get screwed out of ever having a superbowl near them ?

NY/New England have tens of millions of fans who spend money on nfl products as well as watching the games. Why should they not have a superbowl near them in their local stadiums ?

Plus there are countless other teams in cooler climates who will never even get a look at their stadiums. Yeah its cold outside but guess what its the fricken superbowl im sure theyll be fine

What exactly is the advantage we are missing? I've never felt screwed that the games weren't played near here. We save airfare - that's all. Nothing compared to the ticket prices. Does anyone think they are going to the game if it's played here? By 2014 how much will the tickets cost? How many "Super Bowl" fans will put up with 34 degrees at night with wind? (If they're lucky it'll just be 34 degrees and windy)

I for one do not want to see Woody and the Marra boys rewarded for erecting this roof-less stadium after the screwing we're receiving on the PSL's and ticket prices.

A Super Bowl in cold miserable conditions will be empty after half time. It will be the first step towards something I thought I'd never see - Super Bowls that are not sold out.

Absolutely wrong. Not only will it be sold out, but it'll have greater attendance from fans who actually give a shit about the teams.

Maybe a cold weather superbowl could do something more important for fans. It could make the superbowl more available to REAL football fans, rather than the mega rich/celebrities.

For a NY fan to go to a superbowl in california or miami youre talking well over a two grand for tickets + airfare + hotels etc etc. On top of having to take off from work and so forth. I think by having a cold gritty superbowl youre going to see more diehard football fans and less pampered celebrities who are going as part of a fashion statement.

Plus having a north east superbowl is good for the local economies.

And as to a superbowl emptying out by haftime, anyone who would leave a superbowl @ halftime doesnt deserve to be there in the first place imo.

WHile a superbowl over here, with all the elements would be exciting, Its important that the teams be able to play at even strength. For example, if one of the team is a dominating run team while the other a pass happy team, the run team will have an unfair advantage in the SB.

Madison Square Garden. Might as well let one of the worst owners in all of sports get the opportunity for a Super Bowl.

And playing in a dome favors a passing team no ?

Every single stadium is going to favor one team over another its all a part of the game.
