Okay but this has been tried before by Torre. Cano, for whatever reason, when moved up in the lineup doesn't hit as well... When he is 6th or 7th is when he does well. I can't explain it, but why tinker it.
It's been 2 at bats.. relax You tinker with it because Cano is GREAT hitter. He's capable of hitting .320, 25 HR, 120 RBI.
Relax? Cano has rarely done well when he is moved up in the lineup... I know he is a great hitter...But for whatever reason, when he gets moved up, he doesn't do as well.
And Pettitte's money, $9-12 million on incentives(1 yr/$5.5 i believe) Not to look ahead, but its nice to know a lot of dead weight is going to be shed. And I like Andy, but I doubt he comes back next year.
I'm willing to go year to year with Andy, he's deserved it, and is more than serviceable right now. The guys proven winner in NY and eats innings. Though we eventually have to give Hughes a spot.
Lets hope Andy get through the heart of the A's lineup here in the 6th and call it a day (unless it's a quick one, I think he's thrown around 85 pitches) I'll take 6 inning of 2 earned runs.
You just have appreciate Andy Pettitte. He's the poster boy for stability. Even when he doesn't have his best stuff he gives you a solid 7 innings
