25%, and none of that 25% has to do with Clemens. Ratliff and Ainge might be good QBs, with Ratliff getting the bulk of that probability. I'm approaching Ratliff with cautious optimism for now. As long as Clemens isn't starting games for this team, I'll have hope.
I voted for the 25-50% category. I figure Clemens was "supposed to be" good. Drafted relatively early in the 2nd round, if I remember right, and there was talk he could have gone earlier except for some injury worries (was it a leg that had to heal?). He's played in like 8-12 games. Showed some signs of goodness. Some bad. But I think the jury is still out on him. I think he's our best chance, and that he's probably close to 50% for odds of being good. I know nothing about Ratliff. I don't think he's supposed to be good, and all I've seen of him were those preseason games last year. So I figure it's pretty unlikely he'll amount to anything. I'd put his odds below 25%. Ainge was, what, a 4th rounder? And his dad was awesome at basketball? I think his odds are also less than 25%.
So what are you asking? The thread title and the question in your post are two completely different things. Do you want to know if we think there's a legitimate NFL quality QB on the team right now, or whether there's a future Pro Bowler, superstar and Hall of Famer? How am I supposed to answer this?
Thats what im asking myself... But in my eyes, we already have a solid QB and a leader on this team in Kellen Clemens... If Jet fans wanna go insane and call for Ratliff as the starting QB because of two or three freaking throws in preseason...Then Im calling for Kellen due to the show he put on against the Ravens Defense, throwing for like 300 yards in the 4th Quarter (Or something like that) and if not for the drop by J.Mac...Kellen could of had an amazing come from behind victory against a great Ravens D that game. Lets just hope that Rex Ryan took note of Kellen that game and actually gives him a 2nd chance here in 09...A fair chance with an O-Line and running game with a solid defense. This is the year for Kellen, this is the year that he deserves his 2nd chance because he showed me alot of HEART in 07 behind a HORRID O-Line
I can assure you that if made available.anyone of the q.b.s on the jets roster would be gobbled up by many teams.
can't really be said any better than this. and the poll is rather nieve! the odds of getting a franchise qb are single digits...you could draft one in the first round 10 years in a row and still not get one. that's how minuscule the odds actually are....
If we are not going to play them, then let them go and lets just move and get someone we can groom in the draft. Its not fair to the fans or the players to have everyone quessing. I can't guess who can start for this team let alone who be the next Brady. But if we draft a QB in the draft this season coming up is a wash ( Learning time ) for the Jets. Do we join the Cutler derby, I am on the fence with this one. But its time to fish or cut bait and if these three are not the ones ( NEXT BRADY OMG ) lets please move on for the teams sake.
Clemens had 260 yards through the air in that game. He had like 110 of them in the 4th quarter. The Pennington to Moss bomb in 2002 and the Clemens 4th qtr performance against the Ravens are becoming the same thing.
....the question is Not if we have a Tom Brady, but do we even have a quality NFL QB out of our 3, 80% of the poll replies don't believe we do, that's the point, no matter how good our defense might be next year, will we score any points through the offense??
