it is weird. Fields is a throwaway placeholder, why defend him like he’s good. He’s not good, that’s why he’s here
"Lazy?" I looked at very play of available video, not just stats. I watched the game. Provided full analysis. We punted twice all game scored two TDs in the 3d. 1 TD taken away for FG by refs, plus one more TD and a 3 in the 4th on top. You say Miami allowed it by being soft, fine think that. On top of that only 3 possessions in the 1st half, one TD drive, fumbled by Allen before crossing, two FG range. You say he is still dogshit, OK. I saw some good things. Don't know if he can keep this up and build on it, but to me that was a plus performance, and I proved that by analyzing every available play. Listen, I just call it the way I see it. When he sucked in the second game, I called it too. When I thought Clemons did not foul Allen, I said that too. I don't care about Fields per say, I just think the jury is not fully out yet, and there is a chance, like Sam, Baker, etc... I try to call it accurately, I only care about the Jets, not any player. You can disagree that's fine.
dude you are giving him credit for touchdowns that never happened. Twice. You realize how crazy you sound?
It did not happen. That drive ended in a field goal. you are also giving Fields credit for a TD on the first drive, a drive where he threw 1 off target pass, and a TD that was never scored bordering on absurd here
But it's not absurd to say the rest of the stats are padded and are not reflective of performance Which one is it? Are we counting everything that happened in the game including a perfect TD pass that the refs cheated him out of? Or are we going off the actual hard stats? These are 77 QBR rating and 111 passing. Either way Fields did not look bad yesterday.
Almost-touchdowns and almost-interceptions are the left and right slipper of the New York Jets. If only that kind of thing had a Hall of Fame.
why would anyone count a touchdown pass that never happened? Little league parents aren’t that bad Timmy would’ve hit a home run if that ref didnt call that 3rd strike wrong….And he would’ve made double play in the field if the 1st baseman caught the ball!
That's fine, but then count what did happen, like 300+ yards he did have and 2 TDs is not bad either. The performance wasn't bad either way.
yeah I gottq tap out of this one. very strange stuff. Even when confronted with 1 million facts, that doesn’t matter. All for a bridge quarterback that will probably never play in a meaningful game for this franchise.
That's not the the song you sang praising Tyrod last time... Btw, AG seems to agree Fields played well after watching all 22 more than once. Mentioned he was solid in two of the games out of 3 - this one and game 1 - which is what I thought as well. 9 explosive plays. 4:50
Of course Aaron Glenn is going to defend his QB publicly the Jets are not watching film and thinking they have a QB now
No, he went into specifics, listen starting at 4:50. He also specifically said he was solid in just two games of three, which is what I thought as well. This was not your general defend my QB speak. Even said he watched the film several times on Fields.
In the end, you can’t always take a coach at face value…they are going to say what they say for many reasons, including knowing when to publicly chastise a player or publicly prop him up. But the real point that I agree with is that comment about there being no way the Jets are watching this film and thinking they have their QB. No way He’s a good backup option but he isn’t taking your team to the playoffs
We don't need to listen to Glenn - the proof is in the pudding. Fields had 1 attempt with 1 completion with 7 minutes to go in the 2nd quarter. He's bottom 5 in the NFL in pass attempts despite us playing from behind most of the season. They don't trust him to pass.
Glenn wants to run the ball, play their "brand of football". This is exactly what my point was about the shackles. When he started throwing, he did OK. You can say Miami let him have it, I am not so sure, but who cares, he did fine with what the defense gave him. Not sure what a QB is supposed to do in this case. I am evaluating based on the opportunities given. They didn't let him throw for half the game as you pointed out, and when they did, he did just fine. AG acknowledged it as well. Let's see what happens in the next game, I do want to see him throw more, and if he sucks, he sucks, the tank is already on anyway. But people should not be blaming the QB for having a few yards at the half when the coach is mostly running the ball.
