No that’s why it was an interrogative and not declarative sentence. So I’m guessing the answer is no. Thanks for your indirect response.

a lot. They finally have offensive tackles that are young and talented. They are making a pocket and learning how to do that and be counted on to run behind. You let Fields do whatever he wants, hes not going to play from the pocket, it stunts their development

Taylor often holds onto the ball too long as well, I'm not sure he's the answer but I'd feel more comfortable with him playing. I think they should try to acquire someone though

Yes, now if only Fields could process what he's seeing, hit the broadside of a barn, and hold onto the ball - things would be just great.

I think we have an offensive line, but, and it's a huge but, as usual it is coached very poorly. And I can't really know how much of these pre-snap penalties are on the quarterback. Having a collection of talent is not the same thing as having good players.

This is how I saw the game:

The Jets D was not good the whole game, but held Miami to a FG to start. The Jets responded by driving the field on rushing plays in which the OL was excellent. Fields did throw a pass, it was a bad one but Hall made a great catch on it. The fumble was a crusher, giving Miami the ball in which they marched the whole field and scored. The Jets are down 2 scores early and now have to throw to catch up. Miami knew it and rushed 5 on obvious passing plays (3rd and long) and the Jets OL couldn't handle it. In the second half Miami rushed 4 on passing plays and the OL was good at keeping the pressure off Fields but Miami now had 7 in coverage. Now with extra time Fields was able to complete some passes, but it was too little too late.

This was a typical Jets game over the last 10-15 years. Jets fall behind in the game, are forced to throw to catch up, QB not up to the task, Jets lose. It shows how important getting a lead and staying ahead in a game is and why a good QB is essential for a winning team.

If Fields “doing whatever he wants” stunts their development then we drafted the wrong guys.

You called him a dogshit QB who wastes the OL, so I figured that would have meant he was a major part of the loss, but that's fine if you didn't. At least based on yesterday's performance I don't think he wasted OL or was a dogshit. The biggest issue I saw that he was not getting rid of the ball in the 1st half when blitzed, but I thought a lot of it had to do with inability to pick up blitz as well as play calling, plus he didn't play well either in the 1st. This is where I want to see all 22.

Then in the second half it was significantly better, and no it wasn't only because they stopped blitz, there were blitz plays where we as a team, including himself, played well too. And that TD run, that was also a really good play, which i have to credit him with. In general I thought offense aside from brutal Allen fumble and going for it on 4th and 5, when they should have hit a FG, was decent. Refs stole a TD too. I was more unhappy with AG, the defense, penalties, dumb ST plays, and TOs. Offense and Fields were not amazing, but decent, aside from the goal line TO. This was not the game overall where I would say Fields was dogshit.

Well, there would be no point in you making a declaration because we already know your thoughts on that based on this thread.

Knowing that, along with the absence of the word “Do” at the beginning of your “interrogation” makes it fairly clear to me, a long standing citizen of the internet, that you were expecting a particular answer and preparing to debate it.

Oh, and Fields isn’t the answer. That’s all anyone needs to know.

Wasn’t the Fields fumble on botched 4th down? MIA would have gotten the ball in good field position anyway.

I dont follow. This is the National Football League not Justin Fields' Developmental League. The Jets need to focus on building a core with the players that will be here in the future.

Fields is a throwaway and he's showing why

That's all the more reason he needs to throw the football and not hang onto it!

Your internet citizenship failed you. I asked because I was curious. Again thank you for you non response response. It’s much appreciated.

Valid point but the topic at hand was the field position. Fields sucks; I got it.

What’s not to follow? The not developmental league applies to the tackles as well.

because Fields can be replaced easily with a QB that plays from the pocket. because those tackles are going to have a QB that plays from the pocket next year (and the next 10). because the Jets aren't winning with Fields anyway

Our offense is around League average at 18. Would be even higher if not for refs disallowing clean TD, stupid fumble on the goal line, and some idiotic AG's decisions. And this is with one decent WR on the roster, rookie OC, and defensive HC. But still overall, respectable. Defense is bottom 5, allowing 30 ppg with experienced DC and defensive HC. We CAN win with Fields and this offense, but we do need defense, where the strength of the team SHOULD have been, to play better first and foremost.

I don’t believe this was updated as of last nights game, but Fields has the highest time to throw in the league.

    https://nextgenstats.nfl.com/stats/passing#yards

The only players over 3 seconds are him, Caleb Williams, Geno, Purdy, and JJ McCarthy.

Do what you will with that information.

Fields needs to tackle and cover better.
