If the Giants end up with a top 5 pick, and they really look like they could, do they take a stab at a QB like Jameis Winston or Marcus Mariota? That will be a tough decision for them I think Coughlin is losing his luster there. They need a new coach. Sometimes when you are in the same place for so long they get used to your message/ approach and it isn't taken seriously anymore.
I'm a giants fan but why would i rub a superbowl win in a Jets fans face? The Jets have nothing to do with the Giants so i'm not sure where all the hate comes from. I'd rather rub it in an Eagles fans face or a Patriots fan. Or anybody in my division
The Giants are in for a long year. I have them at 6-10. They look slow on offense cause I don't think they're comfortable in that system yet at all and it starts with the QB. They're going to have major issues protecting Eli all year and thats a problem. Pure pocket passers have to have really strong O-Lines blocking for them cause they can't move around back there. Giants don't have that. Major problem going forward. The defense is just kind of blah. It's not bad but it's not that good either IMO. DRC was a huge mistake, and i'm not even talking about last night. Just in general overall. The guy is being paid top flight money and he isn't that kind of player.
How about this juat saying. Link: http://nfldraftdiamonds.com/espn-worker-takes-a-shot-at-giants-expect-someone-to-get-fired-photo/ Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
Yeah really. Why do you give a shit about the Giants even a little bit? Because they are a NY team? Who cares? They play each other every few years.
The Jets winning a SB, especially with Rex, would be epic in this city. It would compare with the 68 Jets, 86 Giants, and 94 Rangers.. won't be this season tho..
The Giants could be a 4 win team. I haven't seen anything in the preseason or last night that makes me think they can improve. Lost on offense and giving up WAY too many big plays on D.
In all honesty, its going to take more than one Super Bowl to turn the mentality around. Giant fans and the Giant-fan media would certainly diminish a single SB win (eg Francessa: "Talk to me when you've won four in 25 years"). And God forbid if the Jets win it in a close game or on a disputed call. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. If we win a SB, I'd be very happy if you were right.
as much as I hate the Giants and enjoyed last nights game it's way too early to bury them. both of their fluky SB runs since '07 came after they looked brutal to start the year.
Agreed. Maybe not this year, as you say. But I would love for it to happen when Rex is the coach...just to stick it to all his detractors.
This has been going on for a while now. They looked awful in the preseason. Never had a good flow on offense. There was very little positive if any at all to take out of that game last night. Detroit smacked them around all game, end of story. If the Giants didn't look so bad in the preseason you could write if off, if they didn't have a make shift o-line you could write it off. The problem with the Giants is that everything everyone was worried about all off season proved to be true in game 1. That's not a good sign. Doesn't look like Eli is in sync with this new offense at all. And it's not like they have a defense that is capable of carrying them either.
